I am a second generation Ethiopian immigrant, my father escaped Ethiopia after Hailie Salasie was killed and Ethiopia sent into a brutal war where at 16 he and his best friend walked from Adis Ababa to Kenya to a refuge camp and a family in Washington fostered them and took them in as their own. He married my mother a white women from Oregon and I was born. In my home we spoke amharic, listened to Bob Marley and all his sons and reggae and Ethiopian Christian Orthodox as well as Being real and true rastafarians was the most beautiful part of my childhood and today I understand the importance of the meaning of it more than ever. Hailie Salasie whom was the last Ethiopian emporor and King the descendent of Solomon and reincarnation of Christ was depicted in our home in amightly photos frames beautifually. My father still has his dreads today and thought me the healing power of marijuana, one love, the everlasting truth that is zion and is Jah rastafari. We speak out words into existence and through the divine vibration that is christ my family has seen miracles, my father climbed through the pits of hell, he came back for his brother and mother,my grandmother who is now a legal citizen it took a long time but we prayed for her and Jah saved her. In April 2020 I collided hedon with a Ford f150 in my BMW sedan and despite that the Jaws of life HD to cut me out, my dad's prayers, I my grandma's and grandpa's and mother's prayers to keep me safe have always kept me going and never allowed me to give up. The best memories of my childhood were at Reggae on the river, the northwest world reggae festival and many more to come. Ethiopia is hurting right now and my heart hurts for my country and my peoole, since the death of Haile Salasie Ethiopia will not be at peace until it is restored to it's right full air! He lives forever in our hearts, souls and I pray that we all can find the promise land.
