Bread is essentially a sugar to them. Thus high sugars in their diet and them not eating other things to supplement means they could develop this. It starves them of nutrients, can cause obesity, and makes them sick, and in extreme cases can cause physical deformities such as “angel wing”. Granted this is in LARGE numbers meaning waterfowl fed almost exclusively bread. A piece of bread here and there is no problem but when they stop seeking out other foods because bread is around they develop problems. Grow up.
