I disagree concave bat you need to middle the ball otherwise you don't get the value for your shots. @aj sports why don't you prove your point with a mallet
@AJSportsUK2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! The performance of a bat depends much more on how well it’s pressed at the manufacturing stage rather than the profile. We'll do a mallet test to show that sometimes a concave bat can outperform a full profile bat and vice versa. Stay tuned for our video!

So nothing comes under warranty...
@AJSportsUK4 ай бұрын
Its a difficult one in many ways as the bat is designed to be used from the middle. Damage from hitting the edge, shoulder, or toe is often due to the ball striking these vulnerable areas, and not necessarily a manufacturing defect. However, such damage is common in cricket. Therefore, most brands offer a free repair service within the warranty period, a goodwill discount, or a replacement, depending on the damage.

Great idea to look at the pattern of cherries. Just like zeroing in a rifle, shoot it aimed naturally and then adapt for the pattern you achieve. Takes all the timing, pitch variation etc out of the equation and just go with the results.

hey! I have a question. Why can you not mallet test a bat before buying. I feel this is also an equally important thing to check when buying a bat but most shops are reluctant to let you. thoughts?
@AJSportsUK4 ай бұрын
We are actually very keen on people testing bats out with a wooden mallet and provide one when requested in store. This definitely gives you a good indication on the quality of the cleft and the pressing of the bat.

Soft mallet test is better
@AJSportsUK8 ай бұрын
Yes any sort of 'ping' test ideally needs to be done by the person purchasing the bat to get the true feedback based on your personal preference - whether that is with a ball or a mallet.

Nice info. What do you think about Marnus Labuschagne standing on his bat to make the handle more flexible?
@AJSportsUK8 ай бұрын
Yep, this is also a way to make the handle more flexible but its okay to stand on your bat when you have six others in the bag like pro players do! :) But this can be done to make the handle more flexible.

How much?
@sureshsalunkhe90008 ай бұрын
Hi Dave Cannon, My name is Suresh. I am from Pune, India. I am watching GM bats KZbin videos since last 4-6 months, must have watched atleast 50 of them. I really admire the way bats are getting manufactured and the various bat profiles addressing different type of players. I have identified few bats to buy for my son. I also have collected the details of GM authorised dealers list in Pune from your Indian mfg. Delux Sports. Today, I visited one of GM dealer, Hattrick Sports, in Kalewadi, Pune. I asked to show me few bats I identified namely Prima, Sparq, Diamond and Icon. To my surprise and which is very unfortunate, all the bats has exact same back and face profile, exactly same handle and exactly same blade lenght. There was no mention of blade length on the bat. It was seems like only stickers were changed alongwith the price tags. It is very sad to say but seems GM has no quality control here in India. Kindly suggest the way where I can buy genuine GM bat in India. Pls look into the matter very seriously. Hope my query will be solved on utmost priority. Best regards, Suresh

If I did a ping test first before checking the balance, does it matter?
@AJSportsUK9 ай бұрын
We recommend checking the balance first as it will just help you narrow down the selection to what you will be comfortable playing with. We generally tend to find that within this shortlisted group of bats, you always find one which has the right ping as well as the ideal balance for you.
