As a newbie crabber with a boat, I e noticed that the females tend to hang out closer to the shore. You have to go out for the dudes.

In the 70's many of us wanted to stop entry of city slicker Oregonians, not implying you are one, but the the Californians followed and along with spotted owls, destroyed our way of life. 8n the woods and fishing on our rivers.

Those are huge gapers. I'll bet most people don't like digging them in that rock and it lets them grow up.

What is the name of the rake and can it be bought online?
@WestCoastOutdoors10 ай бұрын
The rake I used here called Potato Rake. Homedepot, Parkrose Hardware, and Fred Meyers have it. If you want a fancy one, then google it using keywords clam rake with basket.

Why keeping so many fishes? Save some for the raining day! catch and release, be ethical, responsible and good sportsman,

What is not ethical here? A good fisherman is the one who follows rules and regulations!

If you're carching them with just a hook and a swivel then you're probaly flossing them....whatever works....
@WestCoastOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Hook inside their mouths, and sometime they swallow the jig. So definitely, this is not flossing, bro. Try it and you will see.

Nice action! When was this? Looks cold. Early June? How long did it take you to catch that 33 fish?
@WestCoastOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I think it was on June 17th, it was raining a little bit so not many people came. It was a little wet, but It wasn't cold. I showed up at noon, fished for 3.5 hrs. Spent 1 hr 15 mins cleaning the fish. Took 20 minutes to haul the fish up as I was a bit late, and the Ranger was waiting.🤪

every shad I catch had parasites inside. Fished this week
@WestCoastOutdoors Жыл бұрын
That's scary. I normally don't inspect them that close. Feed the crabs.
@NierNierPasture Жыл бұрын
@viktors4577 more info on the parasites? What kind? How did you find out? Are the fish still safe to consume if cooked?
@WestCoastOutdoors Жыл бұрын
@NierNierPasture While the fish is still fresh, you can fillet and carefully inspect the meat, look for red spots, and see it wingles. Or leave it at room temperature. it usually comes out. It should be safe to eat if cooked. BTW, in general, fish carries parasites, including salmon.
