What size saw and chain do you recommend with the logosol mill, I’ll be milling about 24 “ logs. Thanks
@richhiway25 күн бұрын
@@mikeyj5383 I had Sthil 046 and a 661. I would cut the logs to a cant with the 90cc (660) and cut the lumber with the 70cc. The chain cutting the clean lumber stays sharp so by using two saws you cut down sharpening.

I agree, my father has many porter cable, stanley b&d and milwaukee tools going as far back as the early 50s. many of them were handed down from my grandfather and still run like new. what they're making now will never last that long.

With all due respect you need another camera above the saw or on it , it looks like you have to do do all the work yourself like me im 62 with metal knees and hips but i still get the the job done well done mate 👍

Great video, I’m also in the Hudson Valley, trying to figure a good homemade log turner for my sawmill. Thanks for the video. I know sawmilling is no easy job, especially by yourself!

Unless it's a huge log, which the one shown isn't, it's simply much faster/easier to turn with a peavy. I use a long metal handle one made by LogRite. If it's a LARGE log, the winch helps a bit, but is slow as crap. In 30 years, I've used mine a handful of times.

See! Doesn't take anymore than a few minutes of anything but showing what the tool can do. The log was bigger than 16" so you moved to the backside to finish it off.. no explanation needed

My simple set stoped working on My LT-35 had 98 hours on it called Woodmizer and they said it was one of two things, the board $135. Or the push button it’s self, he suggested to try that first $14.01 got it in 23 hours after I ordered it installed it, problem solved, if anybody has that problem don’t panic, that’s probably all it is, PS great demo on how the simple set works🙋🏻♂️
