@@minusforty4323 hi, the example from the video is for a discrete and empirical probability distribution. The normal distribution is a continuous probability distribution will require a different approach.

What if the number of production days is not given in the problem? How do we do the subcontracting strategy?

Fundamentally, one will try to outsource the amount of difference between the total demand and the total production capacity (e.g., days * daily production rate). If the problem description does not provide the number of days, see if the problem has provided the total production capacity in different ways... Cheers!
