My situation is Bermuda grass growing on red Georgia clay, loam mix. I need a robust heavy duty machine. I have a tractor but only a subsoiler, si plans are to first give town to 12 inches every foot or so in both directions to loosen this up, then till it. It looks like this machine could handle it. I’ll be putting g in green manure cover crops to outgrow the grass, mow and till as soon as possible this spring. How tough was your soil? Do you think this machine can handle this..

@@russbowman6801 I have loam soil. This machine works well for my needs. It would probably work for you too. However, I think it would be slow going in heavy clay. If you have a large area you might want to look into a Big Red.

great job and i like the way you didn't put the legs at the end of the i-beams, I figure you could run 2 2x4's at the ends to link them and add a whole lot more rigidity when cutting boards on them. a nice little project for me on Christmas eve tomorrow. thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas

This time of year, with temps dropping, we get a bird down in the woodstove, fluttering around inside a couple times a week. Note, this is without a fire going, just residual warmth going up and attracting birds. With a cage of some sort, especially, when it is very cold, how do you stop creosote from forming on the chicken wire and blocking the vent? With a double wall pipe, creosote has never been a problem inside the pipe. Running a wire sweep brush up and down, produces very little soot. However, it sticks to the wire cage I made very similar to using the same chicken wire as you did. If I used cage wire with a bigger opening, the birds get through.

😂 The first step with the 4x4 I can understand. But once you have your hands under the bottom bar, just keep going. It's harder to hold the weight still, twist around, shifting the load to one hand while grabbing the saw horse to slide it. Just keep going.
