Nice driver-quality A-body, I particularly like '67-'72's. Good size, plenty of aftermarket support (these days) for most models, styled under Elwood Engel, and a great platform to restomod. I've had so many '66-'76 A-bodies its comical. They were everywhere in the PNW, solid and the mild climate helped preserve them. Most I ever spent on one up there? $1300 for a very clean '68 loaded GT. Five I got for free, one of which I took across country when I relocated to NC and still have. I did get a very clean-body, AC-equipped, '69 Swinger 340 out of the Lampasas, Texas scrub brush that had been parked since '81-'82 with a semi-butchered 383 transplant in it. Perfect chassis for a little mild-custom resto mod that will look very close to stock but hides a lot of upgrades. My 'driver' Valiant is that way- chassis, steering, suspension, powertrain, brakes, some mild external custom touches that are hard to spot, exhaust, interior, aero improvements. You aren't going to live forever. Build them right so you can enjoy & make memories with them or what is the point? Look at the prices & aging out of the demographic. The people that bought these new or when fairly new- they are getting older and/or dying off. Seems rather in vain if you just putter to a car show every time it's nice or such. Why bother then?

Nice. It looks like a '67 hood.

In 1971 a friend of mine had one of these. Same year, same engine, same 4-speed. Ran like a bat out of Hell.

@dogbarbill One of my friends had the Ford Galaxy 500 GT. The only tip was the badges on front grill and trunk. Cobra Jet engine, 4-Speed. Even the wheels were lot stock. The front end would come off the ground in 1st and 2nd gears, so one had to be very, very, careful to not have to steer the car in hard acceleration.

Many years ago a local Brit bike mechanic had one of these that he'd restored. What a machine. In 1984 he was asking, if I recall correctly, $3500. That would be about ten grand now--a steal! I just couldn't afford it at the time and he's passed on now, alas.

The ONLY thing that this GTX lacks is the wheels. Change out the wheels to the Magnum 500's at least.
