Hi Joan.I have been thinking about Dave today.I was fortunate enough to get to meet and visit with him a few times at The Namm show. I know today is the anniversary of his passing. I hope you are doing ok. ❤
@goodun29744 ай бұрын
Hello, Joan. First, my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your kind, generous and phenomenally talented husband. I was privileged to have seen him play a handful of times with ElRayo-X, and with Ry, and another handful of shows with Hani or Wally. At one show, I had a pair of teenagers with me, budding musicians with a garage band, and Dave and Wally were generous with their time, answering questions and sending the boys home with picks, sticks, snare brushes and autographs. Is it still possible to buy Dave's "official bootleg" CD's? I have the first three up to Twango Bango, but not the rest..... Perhaps I can only speak for myself, but I believe Dave's most devoted fans, whether they're musicians or not, see him as a kind of spirit animal ---- I know I do. I really wish he'd written an autobiography ---- I bet the stories he told in various interviews only scratched the surface of his multifaceted life experiences. Somebody who really knew him should write a biography. BTW, somewhere around here I have a scrapbook full of old interviews with David, some from weird, obscure music magazines (including interviews conducted in England that an old pen pal had sent me), which, if I can find them, might be helpful to someone looking to write a book, but I wouldn't know where to send them. I don't suppose the old PO Box that David used for correspondences and CD sales back in the 80's and 90's is still valid, is it? Anyway, in closing, my regards to you and Roseanne, JB, Ry, Jorge, Wally, Linda Ronstadt, Ben Harper, Henry Kaiser (the Requiem he posted on YT brought tears to my eyes), and the rest of the extended Lindley clan, too numerous to list here. As JB sang, "in the end there's one dance you must do alone". I can also hear Dave's Rasta voice in my head, exhorting us to "sing dem some praises"!

Awesome tune and seems like Jeff Beck had that steel guitar feel in this beautiful melody. I admired Jeff Beck as guitar player myself. I took on pedal steel 30 plus years ago. Never thought of this before, but it fits perfectly. You did a fantastic job on this. Thanks for posting.
