The US Constitution is one of the greatest gifts even given to humanity. Freedom, liberty and rights for all protected by one law for all under God. Absolutely brilliant! #GodBlessAmerica and to all who protect its Constitution

Human rights come from the Creator, not governments. That is why they are both "self-evident" and "unalienable". The Constitution sets forth the limited powers granted by the people to the Federal Government. If that power is not expressed in the Constitution, the Federal Government cannot assume it.

"Please sir, spare my daughter., "no", "ok, then how about not burning down our house afterwards?", "no", "well then I guess I'll have to get dressed now." <--- Dickinson "back TF off, tyrant", "no", "I'm dressed and ready, even brought a few friends, last chance.", "no", "open fire!". <--- Adams I see it as solely the difference between innocence and experience. Innocent people turn a blind eye, because they have NO IDEA how bad it will get. It ALWAYS gets that bad with Tyranny, be they a street gang or a king.

The rich didn’t want to pay taxes … all the rest is window dressing. The rich didn’t want to pay taxes, they were greedy and selfish, right, liberty, self governance were all part of the strategy to stop paying taxes.

Dickinson is such a great character. Viewed himself as British, but also was the first to get in uniform to defend his home. He was the penman of the revolution and has some of the best writings on it and the principles behind it

The British Constitution is still non-codified and smothered in royal power! Because of that, the colonials had to achieve independence. But for those of y'all who are historically political dorks like me. Here are the "rights" that they looked for: - the pretended power of suspending the laws and dispensing with (i.e., ignoring) laws by regal authority without consent of Parliament is illegal; - the commission for ecclesiastical causes is illegal; levying taxes without a grant of Parliament is illegal; - it is the right of the subjects to petition the king, and prosecutions for such petitioning are illegal; - keeping a standing army in time of peace, unless it be with consent of Parliament, is against law; - Protestants may have arms for their defense suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law; - election of members of Parliament ought to be free; - the freedom of speech and debates or proceedings in Parliament ought not to be impeached or questioned in any court or place out of Parliament; - excessive bail ought not to be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted; - jurors in trials for high treason ought to be freeholders; - promises of fines and forfeitures before conviction are illegal and void; - for redress of all grievances, and for the amending, strengthening, and preserving of the laws, Parliaments ought to be held frequently. The Law of 1698 also asserted that if the English monarch engaged in such acts, he was considered a tyrant. These were: - by assuming and exercising a power of dispensing with and suspending laws and the execution of laws without the consent of Parliament; - by prosecuting the Seven Bishops; - by establishing the court of commissioners for ecclesiastical causes; - by levying taxes for the use of the Crown by pretense of prerogative as if the same was granted by Parliament; - by raising and keeping a standing army within this kingdom in time of peace without consent of Parliament; - by causing Protestants to be disarmed at the same time when papists were both armed and employed contrary to law; - by violating the freedom of election of members to serve in Parliament; - by prosecutions in the Court of King's Bench for matters and causes cognizable only in Parliament, and by divers (diverse) other arbitrary and illegal courses; - by employing unqualified persons on juries in trials and jurors in trials for high treason, which were not freeholders; - by imposing excessive bail on persons committed in criminal cases against the laws made for the liberty of the subjects; - by imposing excessive fines and illegal and cruel punishments; - by making several grants and promises made of fines and forfeitures before any conviction or judgment against the persons upon whom the same were to be levied; Long live the American Republic, and for our blessed rights we have in this great republic, we live! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
