Fantastic video and editing, showing the rope gymnastics before the actual role in the kayak. Do you know anyone offering training for the rope gymnastics in Copenhagen?

NO NO NO,,, When wrapping always start from the side the water does not come from...(Back of the yak) This way the overlaps don't catch water Same concept as roofing, start from the bottom and work your way up. Ok you did it right, I responded when you started wrapping it because it looked like the front of the yak...YOU'RE GOOD!

Amateur kayaker here. Is the bungie connected with hook ends or what makes a good attachment? Any more advice regarding this topic?

Excellent. Hope it provides inspiration, greenland ropes is a very practical activity so i hope the visuals give a good idea about the challenge!

Yes, it's providing great inspiration. Now I'm wondering if this old prairie sea kayaker should build a stand for practicing rope games.

You should give it a try - it's a good challenge :-) Anyone else in your paddling community into rope gymnastics or traditional greenland rolling?

I have a friend in a nearby city who is a greenland kayaker. If he doesn't already do rope gymnastics, he'd certainly be interested. I could likely sway a couple of other paddlers to give it a try. I'm in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada - over 1000 km from the nearest ocean so our kayaking community is small (many more canoeists here than kayakers).

Definitely give it a try, it is great fun and a good challenge that feeds into the traditional greenland rolling skills. Work it up starting from short sessions, 1-2 exerises. (for me, 10 minutes on the ropes and i feel like taking a break). More inspiration to be found here: qajaqusa.org/Technique/Ropes.html

Jeg er opmærksom på at at den lave lydstyrke er et problem. Arbejder på at få en version af videoen op, hvor lyden er højere.

I use 18 mm thick anchor rope from a local marine outfitter shop. It's made from polyester, with a smooth weaved surface that is easy on the hands when gripping. A length of 15 meters usually fulfills the need for most rope setups i've made, whether you build a framework or use two solid trees or similar. For padding, i used pipe insulation with gaffer tape on the outside. Have fun and enjoy the time on the ropes, and in the kayak! Cheers, Tue

I've seen Dubside's vids demonstrating the rope technique. Did you make your rope? I like how it is double in the middle and with padding. May I ask what you used?
