Kisumu is far better than the Ugandan capital city Kampala. We Ugandans are envious of Kenyans who have good leadership and rule of law

The Kisumu governor Prof Nyong'o who is now doing this nice work is an alumnus of Makerere University class of economics. By the way, your Makerere University gave Kenya two leaders at 1st class honours who did marvelous work. One is former president, Hon Mwai Kibaki and now Prof Nyong'o, all 1st class honours from Makerere University.

I hope they will start using Lake Victoria water to provide clean water for all residents of Kisumu and its environs. There is more than enough.

I hope these things can be implemented in Godspeed like in more developed countries like the BRICS and G7. Saying you will do something but not doing it is one of the curses of sub-Saharan African countries.

I'm thoroughly impressed by what Prof. Nyong'o and his team have achieved in 5 years. I grew up listening to his ideas on TV as the Minister for Planning while I was in high school. Now I'm a PhD student watching from Hungary and every new video about the city makes me proud. He is making hard decisions and some will lose in the short term but we will celebrate his work for generations to come. If Kisumu wants to operate like a city, then efficiency and reorganisation is pivotal. 5 more years to Professor. The former Governor could not even manage Muhoroni Sugar now what can he do with a county? Mschewww!!

Please reconsider the painting of the city Blue. I think a more sound approach would be involving architecture and design students and graduates, to come up with an original idea of what they want Kisumu to look like. The soul and vibrance of Kisumu will be lost if we just copy some Greek island, especially without understanding why they chose their color scheme (perhaps the colors of the Greek flag? lol).

True, that blue looks ridiculous.

Mombasa is blue too.I prefer green for kisumu
@daniells712 жыл бұрын
@@NileGoddess I thinks that's way better than blue. From a design perspective, I think the city should pick out a rustic color pallet and let people chose from a variety of colors. With greenery, red soil, and dark lake waters, rustic colors would work very well. (Pastel colors for Mombasa)

I think grey would be fantastic. Or whatever colour they have dotted on buildings in Barcelona, Spain.

This is my type of video as a 19 year old Kenyan in the USA it’s showing that Africa in particular Kenya is starting to develop and creating more opportunities for the young youth not Just in business districts but every where within kisumu, Mombasa,Nakuru, and Nairobi I hope from 2021- 2050, it will be the whole of Kenya I know right now people like venders are having problems but soon they will be selling the same things in Their own personal restaurants,and clothing Stores. Just like primark in the Uk and Java in East Africa and earn more money.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

You need to create proper markets to house those shack owning hawkers dotting every street in Kisumu. You also need to have a proper road maintenance program to fix the roads, proper street cleaning for the reduction of dust, and stop planning for more matatus. You should be introducing city operated buses which for now could only run within the downtown and close proximity.
