I'm curious about how much power could be gained by porting the cylinder and a bigger cam?
@chrisfayling6 ай бұрын
Definitely noticeable. My personal klx110 is stock bore just ported and I can feel the difference. After building this engine I’m gonna be putting the same cam in mine. You can physically see the difference in the cam profile. The power gain from the cam is mostly noticed from the mid to high rpm range.

Hey bud just a friendly tip: those calipers dont stay accurate. Ive got a few pairs for quick estimates but they will read usually around 1-3mm off around anything above 10mm. If you grab a better pair advertised as scientific tools they are so much more help when they are dead on
@chrisfayling10 ай бұрын
I mean it’s a blue point set of calipers, on the snap-on truck. I have shims for adjusting valves which are a good way to check because they’re thickness is static, and they measure right on the money.

Actually yes but will cause rust same as brake cleaner which will also dry out seals and make them no good also ! Just use wd40 it's better for seals and won't dry our the seals like brake cleaner and adds a protective coating to prevent from future rust
@chrisfayling10 ай бұрын
Brake cleaner is way thinner than water… that’s why brake cleaner is used. 👊🏼✊🏼
@chrisfayling10 ай бұрын
@@larryw866 I don’t get any up to the seal and I coat the valve with Molly paste and oil, and also grease the lips of the seal before I install the valve… Water or wd40 are thicker than brake cleaner. Brake cleaner is thinner than gas and would seep through the smallest of imperfections in the two sealing surfaces. That’s why it’s used over other liquids.

Yep! I was rebuilding my dirtbike and when I was about to give it a start is started dripping gas from the fuel line seat to the carburator.
@chrisfayling11 ай бұрын
Sometimes that happens, the needle valve gets stuck. Before you take it off try tapping the float bowl with a screwdriver handle, or take the fuel line off and blow compressed air through the fuel line that goes to the carb. It will blow blow all the fuel out through the vents and overflow, so west safety glasses.
