Great interview! You could almost compare Kenny Hotz (and Spenny) and their international appeal to the rise of Jordan Peterson internationally. Stay with me Granted Peterson is more political, but both figures may be some of our most well known and beloved exports internationally. Despite this international notoriety the byzantine Canadian establishment (or Laurentian elite or whatever you want to call it) acts like they don't exist because they don't fit neatly into their poltiics or meta-narrative of who and what this Country is or what they think it ought to be I think Kenny vs Spenny may be the best comedy show of all time - the fact we are still talking about it 20 years later is a testament to its enduring success. The fact that it's also filmed in Toronto and in Canada is just a bonus.

@@mightilyoats2729 Good eye! He's definitely one of my favorites (big X-Men fan!) but that was actually a gift from my younger brother. At the other end of the table there is a Deadpool/Wade Wilson head that doubles as a pen holder. I always liked having them at opposite ends of the podcasting table. With Beast representing reason and curiosity, and Deadpool representing chaos and comedy. As I feel like great conversation falls somewhere in the middle of all that! Kenny was actually a complete dick towards Dr.Goldfield imo. He was a nice character to feature for peculiar demeanour. Telling the audience that he butchers children for his medicine and was a mastermind behins 9/11 would piss anyone off with difficulty understanding the humour of the show.
