This is spot on ! Racism is HUGE in the gay community among men . White men are seen as gods and after that , the rest of the races put into hierarchies. It’s like you stepped into the 18th century. Yet if you’re ethnic the straight white guys wont even spit on you .

I hooked up with men of all races. The ONLY men who had "only interested in my race" on their profile were either black or SE asians. Far too many people blame their lack of success on their race. What's the ONLY characteristic grindr blocks you searching someone out? Their race. Search by height, weight, position, body hair, body type etc. But not race. Yet people think it's their race that makes them unattractive. The sad truth is 99% of men on grindr are unexercised. For me beards are a huge turn off.

Who expects "love" on an app that's literally about no more than grinding groins?? I am 61 yo and I was recently on grindr for a year. I hooked up with about 50 hot younger men. I am not bothered by age but if I am going to risk a STD it had better be for grinding someone hot. In 43 years of gay life I got one STD, from someone I met in a bar in 1998. I didn't get anything in my year on grindr, but two men did contact me weeks after I had met tgem to say they found they had infections. Luckily my tests came back clean. Two medical scientists I met on grindr, both in their 30s, told me they'd had syphilis in the past and (laughing) told me they expected it multiple times in decades to come. What finally put me off grindr? I realised how everyone I met was either emtionally damaged, psychologically damaged, cavalier about disease, drug addicts or sex addicts, or unreliable. But I am old enough to remember when the gay world consisted of bars, druggy clubs, saunas, gaydar. It was pretty bad then but it's hard to know if the people on grindr are just a continuation of that OR maybe those now 20 to 40 are even worse because of IG, FB, YT, Etc. And grindr is just another part of those superficial world of social media. I thought when I was 20 "it will be awful when I get old and I am surrounded by desireable but unavailable young men", but it's the reverse. Most young men are no more physically desirable than old men, and the young men are far more psychologically damaged. So glad I am not in my 20s now.
