Are you using a white max or the premier head just curious
@jivanroberts114 Жыл бұрын
It’s a Tendura head. Remo
@ayytism8857 Жыл бұрын
I may be wrong, and through the mic you used the snare seems to have quite a metallic “tin”-ish sound. I’ve over tightened my top head before and it creates a really harsh tin can sound. You may have cranked the top head too high. This is a quick fix though! Do consider the majority of the snare sound and pitch comes from the bottom head rather than the top head. The top head should have a comfortable give for both the comfort of your hands and air passing through the instrument for proper resonance :3
@jivanroberts114 Жыл бұрын
I agree. The head that’s on it is an oooold head that’s already been through the ringer. I will be putting a brand new never opened Tendura head and a Falams II bottom on the drum once I do the full restoration

I have two Yamaha "pads" like this but they are WAY too loud, so they are just sitting in my garage waiting on someone to buy them. I will stay with my Drumslinger Corps Pad and my new Drumslinger Marcher Pad. Very realistic feel and great workmanship.

My go to around the house is my real feel evans pad... I havent used this pad that i made yet because i cant figure out if it feels weird because theres no housing or if because i dont know how to tune it due to the sound being so different. Or if its just a really really old tendura head thats had enough lmao

Check out Drumslinger Pads. Very similar concept but also different. The corps pad comes with your choice of kevlar heads and your choice of color on the base and the rim is a die cast rim with options also. Thanks for sharing your creation.

Hi! Where did you buy the parts for the marching snare?
@jivanroberts114 Жыл бұрын
I get them from a local music shop called ALPHA Music. They have direct connections with manufacturers. But you can try sweet water. Its a website that has tons of drums and parts. And I found all my part numbers by looking up the year make and model of the drum and found an exploded parts diagram that had everything i needed 🙂

Does the tendura head sound like the remo white max and does it have the same feel when you play on it or does it feel like a cybermax
@jivanroberts114 Жыл бұрын
I’ve never personally played on a cybermax, but from what I know about them and in my opinion, neither. It has a very thick sound, and less tabletoppy in comparison to remo’s current lineup. No where near soft, but not as insanely tight. It has a very old school thick sound that I like way more than the current heads. It’s comparable to a black max in sound. I just chose the Tendura because it’s period correct to when the drum was made which was in the early 90’s

I'm getting old. Although I didnt keep my music career going just know that their are Alumni that are DJs, a drummer that plays for famous European group that travels the world and another that plays for artists such as Fantasia and TLC.
