I hope those radical environmental extremist fanatic ecosystem wackos haven't closed this beautiful beach to public swimming like they did before. It was crystal clear and smelled wonderful yet those control mongering dictator freaks wouldn't allow anyone to swim. It was sweltering hot. They took our freedom away from us, right here in USA. Very cruel government we have indeed. By now, our brilliant " expert " scientists should have finally figured out how to eliminate harmful algae blooms globally. But of course they're too obsessed with outerspace fantasy exploration hobbies to really focus on helping the average human to enjoy a happy, less stressful, more peaceful, and fun way of life. 😉

I have stayed on paradox lake every summer as a child. Now every year we stay at Sunderland cottages. Lovely cottages on a peaceful lake. So many memories! Thanks Toni and Susan!

It's funny, my adopted parents owned Cedar Top Campsites & Cottages on the Western part of the lake so I grew up there. Then when I met my birthmom she said that Susan Sunderland was supposed to be related to our Wright family. Small world.

Thomas Vannatta This was a great video which sparked many memories. I was a member of the aquatics staff at Camp Paradox the summers of 1964-65 and became Aquatics Director at Camp Paragon in 1966-67. It was wonderful experience shared with friends and young campers.

I spent 5 summers on Paradox Lake, as a camper at Camp Paragon for girls. The summers of 1966-1970. Great drone video, but I would love to see the other side of the lake where Paragon was. Our brother camp was Camp Paradox.

Hi Margie. Thank you for your kind words. I'd love to be able to do another video of the other side of the lake, but I've since retired to Martha's Vineyard to be with my kids and grandkids.

I can't thank you enough for posting this. I spent summers at Paradox on family vacations from the time I was a child through my teen years. I went back in 2006 on my honeymoon! Each time I was there, I stayed in a house on Whits End Way. When I was there with my family, the property was owned by Dorothy and Whit Daniels - back then it was called "Whits End on Paradox," because of the obstacles he had when building the place!

This is a great video. I go camping on Lower Saranac every summer. Used to spend the whole summer there before the state tore down the tent platforms. Our site was on Halfway Island, permit #1473, Prentiss. This is right next to the lower locks. About ten years ago we tried to go to town and get ice cream at Mountain Mist and Mexican food at Casa del Sol, but the locks were closed due to a power outage. We didn't even know the whole east coast had a blackout until I went back to work at the end of our 2 week camping trip.
