Years ago in 2022 I met the most wonderful girl in summer, she was a friend of someone I knew a lot, but for some reasons I never had the oportunity to met her that much. Once we start to talk like real friends we went to have 4-5 h lunches talking about music, movies and books after we ended our classes in college; it started to felt like heaven to me. A guy she was dating with no idea of becoming something serious knew my friends in the college and started telling everyone that I was meeting her to "steal his girl". I remember in that moment I thought it would be something mad to my friends. I was wrong, and they not only believed him but took me apart from the group since. I truly became dependent on this girl in that moment, I waited til my classes ended to met her and just talk and slowly fall in love with her. Unfortunetely I knew it wasn't reciprocous and whe will never feel the same as long as she was a "free soul". We both lived in a Latin American country that has been under the control of a silent regime for at least 2 decades now, and one day a few months after all that happen with my old friends and the way I felt in love with her, she told me their family needed to escape the country. That day I felt my life was taken from me. I died of love, it's OK. I know it wasn't trains, but remembering the eternal ambient on the bus station with all the buses motors around while I gave her the last hug we will gonna have, after helping her family with the money to run away. A few months later we stop talking because I discovered she wasn't the person I thought she was, and after taking a long therapy program I can truly say I'm happy know. This song remembers me every single moment of that story, knowing that I'm not the only one who love a person that much, to let her tied u up into the trains rail. I hope one day the scars in my country could heal as the one in my heart.

This is my first time ever hearing of this group. I'm listening to Trains. As a GenX'er, I'm pretty hard to impress where rock music is concerned. This song is amazing. I'll be checking these guys out for sure.

Recently, i met this woman in an internet café, we both played the same games and i have always seen her around for months and finally got myself a chance to talk to her. Within 2 days we already got this bond that acted like we knew each other for years. And by the third time we met again, we already discussed our problems and struggles in life. And by the end of the day i could still remember when we walked together in a busy street, on a humid afternoon, many vehicles and engines passing by. When she hugged me, the hissing subside, i was in luck. Although i knew this might not happen again, i am dying in love and that is okay. But i always wonder when this summer might slip away. Will it be or it won't i certainly don't know. But I'm for sure i wanna spend the whole summer with her. Cheers to you Mojo! This song's for you dear! Train by Porcupine Tree She was an angel that fell on earth.

When a modern song emotionally engages you with its sounds, timing, words and script of things left unsaid or the pauses, waits and ascents transport you to a parallel universe, it can be said that it is a respectable piece of art

If I had a nickel for every love song about trains I know, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice (princess of the night)

Play it again! What a great song. I also really love it when Steven slips a banjo into a rock song. His banjo instincts are on point. He knows just when to use it.

[Verse 1] Train set and match spied under the blind Shiny and contoured the railway winds And I've heard the sound from my cousin's bed The hiss of the train at the railway head [Hook] Always the summers are slipping away [Verse 2] A sixty ton angel falls to the earth A pile of old metal, a radiant blur Scars in the country, the summer and her [Hook] Always the summers are slipping away Find me a way for making it stay [Chorus] When I hear the engine pass I'm kissing you wide The hissing subsides, I'm in luck When the evening reaches here you're tying me up I'm dying of love, it's OK [Instrumental break] [Chorus] When I hear the engine pass I'm kissing you wide The hissing subsides, I'm in luck When the evening reaches here you're tying me up I'm dying of love, it's OK [Outro] (Always the summers are slipping away) (Find me a way for making it stay) Always the summers are slipping away

I met a girl on a Summer Camp in high school. She invited me out to a timeshare her folks had out in the snow. We broke up that week. It wasn't meant to be. I remember listening to this song as I stared into the snow-drift. I don't regret a moment of it.

As a lifelong Yes fan. I can see they( porcupine tree) have consistently carried the prog baton on to new heights. PS Steve Wilsons prog remasters are exceptional too, offering new insights to already brilliant recordings. ❤
