I don't get why you like the hand feel on the Torras, but you don't on the official clear case. Both are cheap transparent acrylic with zero texture whatsoever.

@@scottstek I carry my phone in jeans or jacket pockets, which tend to collect lint that ends up on the lenses, lol. Also feel a need to protect the lenses on these expensive phones. I really appreciate your reviews!

Thanks for the explanation. I'm surprised I've never damaged a lens, myself!
@billrenneker3686Күн бұрын
@@scottstek Nor have I damaged a lens to my knowledge, but here I am, moving up from an old S7 in an armored case with one rear camera to an S25 Ultra with five rear cameras and costing nearly as much as my Nikon DSLR--which I would never lug around without a lens cap. Coming from a photography background, I tend to be very protective of camera lenses. And it's not just the possibility of damage, but also fingerprint smudges that can ruin an otherwise memorable photograph. A case with a sliding protective cover, such as the Nillkin, Sunstory, Deerlamn, or SQMcase brands offer makes sense to me, rather than a door style cover, and definitely not a clear plastic cover. Just not sure which of those would offer the best protection & quality, and be the easiest to live with. I may have a tendency to overthink things at times... ;-)

Thanks for the reviews. It's still so hard to find the ideal case. They always have 1 thing missing, such as being too slim, too thick, no magsafe, weak magsafe, bad camera cutouts, etc. The closest case for me would be the maus limitless 6.0 case in carbon, BUT the thing cost way too much. Have used unicorn beetle cases in the past as they are built like tanks at a reasonable price, but i feel that it completely ruins the thinness that you paid for.

Very nice in depth honest apples to apples test of all of the cases. I also Love your Humor mixed in. based on your review, the totally encapsulated case would be my favorite to use when taking on a hiking trip or on a ski slope in a west slope front pouch. so for me, that would be my favorite specialty case. ps. took some "Big Ones" to repeatedly drop each of cases with your phone inside. I got the Benks Armor Pro, im also going to get the Pitaka cases as well. I wanted the Pitaka case, but I want all around cover protection for my phone. But I also wanted individual cutouts on the cameras like how the Pitakas are Benks used to do individual cutouts on their cases, but idk why they switched to the wide area cutout, aesthetically, it looks much worse. So im going to end up getting the Pitaka case, and probably will get the Torras case as well, just to see how it is.

Got a 36" Blackstone for Christmas a couple years ago. I had a grill. The grill got pushed to the side and I haven't used it since. The Blackstone gets all the love. I also want to do a natural gas conversion to it. The main issue is getting the pipe run to the location. It's not a long way (the utility room is on the opposite of the wall where the Blackstone sits and there's a natural gas connection in there, already), but messing with natural gas is something I leave to the pros.
@scottstek12 күн бұрын
Yeah, I only did the project because I was replacing a grill. I wouldn't mess with natural gas otherwise! Once you go Blackstone....

Haha! My phone wasn't compromised on any of the drop tests. I thought the way it cut to the next clip after dropping the Pitaka was funny, so I left it like that. It's probably the least protective case, but it's very thin and minimalist, which I personally will take over extra protection.

Hey my friend. I am glad you reviewed the Rebel Air. I have owned two of their Flex series cases. Really liked them. Drop protection and screen protection is fabulous. The Rebel Air I was wondering about. I like the idea of the thin case with protection. It purchased a Gripmunk right after commenting on your last video. It is fantastic. By far one of the best cases for the price! The MagSafe is super strong. The camera control button cutout is easily accessible but doesn’t cause issues with the integrity of the case. I may have to pick up the Rebel Air. I am an avid outdoorsman. Protection is important to me. Thanks for another fun video. Cheers.

@ Scott, best priced camera control button case. That is actually good? I am outdoors type. So some protection, but nothing crazy.
@bonannos23 күн бұрын
Something you don’t address and that is very important to me is the amount of protection around the screen (the raised lip?) This is so important in a face down drop. I bought the Caudabe Paragon for my new phone but the raised lip is non existent on the sides. They say it offers better swiping but this is a deal breaker (and screen breaker) for me.
@scottstek22 күн бұрын
Yes. Thanks for pointing that out. I typically just mention "protection" and show a close up, unless the phone really emphasizes it or lacks it. Most of the ones I tried are so similar in that respect. I try to highlight it more in the future.
