I alluded to it on the balance conversation video a month or so ago, but I’ll give you my cook. 39:00 you’re talking kommo’o Grassy seed body press kommo’o. Immediate +1 boost means you don’t need iron defense. Now you get to run coaching on it too. Protect, taunt, breaking swipe, flamethrower, aura sphere. Pick your other moves (instead of coaching too if you choose) Zamazenta at home

Hoping Garg picks up in usage because it feels like its good into a lot of whats popular now
@pokemans77054 күн бұрын
No offense but how is garg good rn? It's a guaranteed tera, loses hard to steel types it's supposed to beat otherwise and is just a little too stally. Being immune to status is cute but you're not hanging after a CC. I'm not saying it's useless but it's niche

@Hauxe11 күн бұрын
Saw no hate comments so came here to fix that! Urshifu is consistent yes, consistently breaks intended battle mechanics. Sneasler is just a sneaky lad that Injects tons of RNG into that match and Pokemon matches inherently have RNG as a core mechanic of the battle structure. Yes obviously the Sneasler percentage to trigger that rng are higher than anything we’ve ever seen, but I still believe breaking game mechanics all together is worse regardless of how consistently those mechanics are being broken. #hate #engagement #urwelcome

My stock tip is just buy the s&p500, double your money every 7 years 5-10k in that per year and you'll retire happy
@archieVGC_UniteАй бұрын
And dollar cost average. Buy a consistent amount every week, month, year. You’ll get things on sale in down times, and you’ll ride with the bubbles without ever needing to worry if you called the top. Also, buy it from something like Vanguard, Fidelity, or Charles Schwab- one of the big names with very low fees for passively managed investments like an S&P index fund.

I loved hearing you talk about reg H. I also have been trying to find that balance sauce. And during your conversation, you hit racially every element that synergizes perfectly (with a secret hidden tech): Volcarona being really good is the centerpiece of the balance core and does so well with most offensive threats being special. Rilla is a great partner for it and we added a Gambit to synergize really well and be defensive into flying types. Primarina and pawmot, you identified as perfect contributors to be super annoying and bother the other stuff enough to allow you to outplay. It took a bit to find the right sets for each, but the team just feels right now. We have a 6th tech Mon that feels pretty good too that I’ll keep private 😉
@jeffreyabercrombie8136Ай бұрын
Now that all those mobs are top 10 (with pawmot being top 20ish), I wouldn’t be too surprised to see that team come together from someone else. I’ve seen a lot of rilla incin prim ursa balance types. Interested to hear what Ryan thinks about how balance is playing. Do you have a discord?

It's funny how the conversation about how people handle regionals are handled was brought up because it's something that I thought about for myself a lot: I was basically in the same spot as Conkledonk where I tried to limit how much PTO I use for regionals as possible to attend as many as I could while saving as many as I could for worlds, especially since I had in my mind that this season was my last one shooting for an invite at the start of the 24 season. I realized along the way anyway that I'm good enough that even on my worst day I'd still get points with the current system, but approaching regionals that way meant that I don't give myself enough time to rest on Friday, meaning that I'm frequently on my B-game. I'd much rather go to less and go for the experience than aiming for points. I'd rather go for quality of performance and experience than maximizing my odds to make worlds. I've made worlds enough times, it no longer feels like a goal that I'm proud of achieving, just something that I'm entitled to if I'm aiming for it.

I literally can't even afford to go to a regional in my state unless it's la which is the only one I've ever attended 😭 people got responsibilities... People have kids... People have parents that got to take care of... So it just seems like if you're not privileged you're s*** out of luck. At best do your best to try to win a regional and that's literally all you can do.

As someone whose closest local is 5 hours away more GCs will be cool. But mostly every other change seems strange to me
@dilePKMN3 ай бұрын
Yall consistently prove to be my favorite podcast in the space! Agree on everything here, especially that locals needed a change but may have been an overcorrection. I think worlds got too big this year because they were not expecting this much growth in VGC. I think if they can at least bring back a CP bar, most issues would be fixed. I actually like some of the changes even though that may not be popular lol. Also, glad you brought up the issue of burnout. That was actually the first thing that came to mind. These changes benefit the spectator more than the competitor I think. So afraid that really good players are going to burn out trying to chase invites.
