Hello! I have an important question… I’m wondering how do you search for a good / proper position for the Bones and the muscels? What if I’m used to a certain „asymetrical „ position also because I have it in my genes? What if I’m already too attached to a certain position. Or I had too much changes? Because I had passed too much ortodontic treatments? I have also problem with temporomandibular joint on the oposite side? I have neuralgia on the right. It started after orthodontic treatment. Br. P..S. Is there anybody in Poland who does your proceedure? Agnieszka

There is no one in Poland with DTR Certification unfortunately. Your case is complex but not impossible from what you are saying. I cannot comment one way or another on your specific case without doing an exam and workup.

How is your DTR going to stop this patient's excruciating TN pain: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3SqdIdvjdiJnJY I'm skeptical of the DTR procedure in treating such a debilitating condition as TN. Seriously, TN is causing some to sadly take their lives. After all, TN is also known as the "Suicide Disease". I've been suffering with TN off-and-on for 50 years. Paroxysmal, excruciating pain attacks are for real and should never be treated lightly. The best diagnoses and treatments are with licensed M.D's who have extensive experience treating TN patients. If you believe you have TN symptoms, see a neurologist, with a history of treating TN.

With a blood vessel pressing against the trigeminal nerve as being the typical and main cause of the terrible TN pain, how does manipulating the bite and muscles stop TN pain? At about 4:38 of your video, you say, "...you have a neurovascular compression that's sitting on the nerve and you've got a problem... as we've already discussed, this is like uh, 10% of patients, so what are the 90% suffering from?" Respectfully, on the contrary, the NIH reports, "it has been considered that around 80-90% of the patients suffering from TN exhibit vessel contact within the nerve." The success rate for MVD operations is high, with 80-95% of patients getting complete or partial pain relief. It is my opinion, as being a TN sufferer for decades, that being in the care of a neurologist/neurosurgeon is the best way to "live" with TN. Too, if you've been diagnosed with TN, a good contact point for info and treatment options is The Facial Pain Association. Find them on the web. Trigeminal neuralgia is also known as the "Suicide Disease" and is absolutely nothing to take lightly. Get the best help you can from doctors extensively experienced in TN care! Good luck.

4:35 "Does this affect how you eat?" Ha ! Food to me is a pile of pain ! Oh, my ! Two MVD's and they both failed ?!?!?! How awful. Trigeminal neuralgia, also known as the "suicide disease". My first electric shock to my face was at age 25, I'm now 75... Been "living" with T.N. for 50+ years. Took prescription meds with bad side effects, had a rhizotomy, tried acupuncture and supplements. Never tried gamma knife and didn't want to go for the MVD, because of exactly what happened to this person. T.N. a terrific life ruiner ! I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

@@DrBenSutterEugene Drinking liquids, taking supplements, eating oatmeal, touching my face or head in certain areas, a light breeze, shaving, showering, brushing and flossing, etc., etc. all of these things and various and sundry others ALL set off the worst pain in my face I've ever felt. With all due respect, sir I made the mistake, like most other T.N. sufferers, of going to a dentist, first. Ha, my dentist used to call my T.N. fibromyalgia ! He wasn't hip to T.N. nor how to properly treat it. I had teeth pulled, things made to wear in my mouth while sleeping (that really irritated things !). It wasn't long after that I made the move to neurologists, M.D.'s experienced in treating T.N. Ya' know, Doctor, one of the awful things T.N. sufferers develop is a mental state of being terribly freightened of when or if the pain is to return; you never know. It's like taking a beating off-and-on, periodically and never knowing when you're going to get another. I try and hide all my experiences and not show it on my face, most of the time. But, sometimes I can't. It's like this bad-ass bully throwin' you a beatin' any time he wants and there's nothing you can do about it. You don't even want to have to answer questions. Too, my pain keeps me awake. As of this writing, I haven't slept for days. This young lady you're treating, has that "look" of being so afraid of the next "beating" she'll get from T.N. I can see it in her expression and eyes. One loses a large amount of trust in so many areas, because of the awful pain and what you know is happening to your life. It's good you're there for patients. Hopefully, your treatments are successful ! All the best to your patient in the video !

Dr Ben, thanks a lot for this content. I am been treated by a doctor that does DTR in Europe, but he has told me that he can't do it yet, because he thinks my TMJ is very badly injured (I am 25, aside from this, a very healthy individual). On top of this he tells me that the bite is not stable yet for DTR, should I insist on DTR? I see your videos and all your patients with same symptoms get fixed rather fast...
