What Transmission fluid type am I supposed to buy, I was hoping the closest thing to the protection offered by genuine Toyota, without the genuine Toyota price. What fluid type would that be, Dexron 2,3 Mercon..? (Edit: AutoZone’s website shows Dexron VI (6) or Mercon V (5) or just generic ATF? Are these acceptable? Which one provides the best protection and performance out of the three?)

I recently tried the seat jackers from Desert Does It, but my 5'10"-of-a-body legs felt like they were too tall. One about half thickness might work. However, Desert Does It mentioned that the angles required for the bolts limits their ability to build a shorter seat jacker which makes perfect sense. They took the product back no questions asked. I think it's a great, well built product, just didn't fit for me.
@teamoildrop13 сағат бұрын
That's my personal experience with them as well. I totally understand how they can be beneficial for some, but definitely not all body types and ratios. I had mine in for 3 days before I decided I liked the OEM seat placement better. Tyler loves his and plenty of others do as well, just wasn't comfortable on my legs. -Austin

Where do you stand on the transfer case oil? Can of freshly squeezed diamond juice aka OEM 75w LF or substitute Ravenol 75W or Redline MT-LV? Thanks for sharing 👊
@teamoildrop17 сағат бұрын
We do recommend factory fluid, however if you ask most dealerships, they just drop in 75w-90 in place. Factory fluid is very cost prohibitive and while it is beneficial, the interval will ultimately be much more important. I personally just drop in 75w-90 every 15-20k and call it good, others may disagree. Ravenol and Redlines are a great alternative if you're a stickler for the weight similarity. -Austin

The Toyota OEM plug gaskets are brass for the drain and the crush washers are steel for the fill. you asked how I mount my phone. Hondo Garage phone mount. From Tacoma lifestyle. It fasten into the top of my vent closest to driver side door. You can almost close the vent fully, but not fully closed only disadvantage. The construction is immensely solid made from high-quality plastic in the ram components and the rest of it is constructed out of aluminum.. Phone sets in securely and its position and height is perfect. Doesn’t draw your eyes away from the road doesn’t block any visibility as I line it up with the door and windshield column. It’s over by the driver side, so no one else can be messing with your phone either. Nice comfortable height for using Google maps. It works extremely well off-road as the entire system is solid as a rock.. that’s the system I’m currently using.

Thank you! So the only caveat with the heated version is you need to replace the clock spring since the wiring for the heated steering wheel needs to spin with the wheel and it does that through the clock spring. It isn't a difficult install by any means and the wheel does include a replacement clock spring, I personally just did not want to modify/replace parts of the airbag system in my truck. Basically once you remove the wheel you'd also remove the clock spring, then add the wiring for the heated steering wheel from a fuse tap. -Austin

So I find something about this deceptive. Either you just bought this toy truck as a content generator or you work for Toyota or you just don't mind blowing your money. You say you already have a third gen, what would be the point of buying another midsize Tacoma for over 50k than blow a bunch more on all those mods? The things you like about the new generation are.. lighter tailgate material and lane keep assistance 😅???? What exactly do you do with these trucks? Go to the local Starbucks and grab a latte? For the price you spent you could have had an actual truck since you already have a 3rd gen rack. Not really making sense son. Imo I've had all these trucks as well as this 4th gen. The 4th is just flashier and a bit more comfortable. The build quality is garbage. That light hood is trash as well as the doors. All electric dash push start crap. The truck does rattle and creak regardless of what you say. If you shut the door hard enough the whole truck starts to sway and bob. Obviously the Toyota family changed hands and they stream lined this new model into basically a rav 4 on a truck frame. Will it last? Possibly. I won't be keeping mine past 80k miles they can have it . I'm sure I'll take a huge loss as well on trade in. Last gen was the last time you'll see a true truck Tacoma. Just because a truck looks cutier or is more teched up doesn't make it a better truck. We are living in the last days of true American muscle, choose wisely folks , these are the last days of true automotives
