If Jesus was perfect, why was it necessary for him to be baptised? Why did he think stars would fall from the sky? Why did he get angry at the fig tree and kill it? Why didn't he know when the end time would come? Why did he kiss Mary? Why did he hide for 33 years?

(1) Jesus was baptized to identify with those who were baptized for repentance and to commission His ministry. (2) Stars will fall from the sky because they will. Jesus knows His Father's ultimate plan. (3) Killing the fig tree was a symbol of the judgment upon the false religious practices of His day. (4) Jesus is the God-man, yet in His incarnation, He voluntarily restricted their use to the Father's will. His lack of knowledge of this particular information is an example of that. That said, He sits at the right hand of the Father now and knows the timing of His return. (5) Jesus never kissed Mary, unless your are referring to the Gnostic writing "Gospel of Philip" in which that is a false gospel and not the Word of God. (6) Jesus was on His Father's timeline (Jn 5:30). Plus, in 1st century Jewish culture, you were not a respected man in society until you turned 30. If you have other questions, a great resource is found at www.gotquestions.org. All Bible-based, faithful answers concerning these and hundreds of others questions like it. I hope that helps. Grace and peace. - GP

Woohoo! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:3-14
