This is a great song in its original form. However, there is something so honest about the man and his guitar delivery.

Where's the soundboard audio from? Was it on any bootleg? The quality is amazing, and I wonder if other songs from this performance exist in this format. Cheers!

It's from the live broadcast back in the day. Engineer also recorded the broadcast/mix on a DAT tape and saved it, the audio is from that tape. He has the full concert on DAT, but won't share. Believe me, we tried... maybe one day... "Would" is the only song he shared, many years ago.

@ManWithouties aw man. Well, at least we know that the whole gig exists in this quality. Maybe one day, indeed...

born in 1970. my dad was a HARDASS.. anyone who knows what i'm sayin knows. his truck had a 40/40 lever in the back window on a rack. he played this CONSTANT FOR YEARS on 8 track. i grew up thinking CCR was a conservative band since my dad was all about eisenhower etc. he never talked to me so i don't know the story.. just what i wrote

Phil Anselmo didn't even TRY to sound like Layne Staley, coz Phil knows there's ONLY ONE Layne Staley, but to sing this song that's out of his comfort zone is definitely a feel good song for him.

Many say, this was the year that his addiction, really started taking control of Layne's life. He had such a bright future, with limitless possibilities, as to what else he could have done in life. It sucks! Addiction doesnt care who you are, nor how much talent and money you have either. Its an equal opportunity killer.

This is good. It feels good despite the slight desperation, the concrete landscape behind the music and the times. I know, I was there and come on, so were you ; Those guys did it. I mean, they tried. Do I sound pedantic? It feels like it.
