This is a great format. I often watch ken Pozek up in Orlando, I like this style of "What's happening in Miami" along with a blend of "Real Estate", blended with "New Restaurants".

I would not move to Miami, however, there are many many great companies moving to Miami, but for a career potential, it is a great idea. Me I am retiring and moving to Florida (lived there before). But would not live Miami, it is getting over crowed and there is a lot of traffic in Miami. But, for a career potential, its a great idea. So many companies are moving to Miami. Mostly from New York, but some from California. I would not live in Miami, but I can see other who would. If you are from California (which I originally was). Then it is a nice place to move to, but for me, too much hustle and bustle. You don't have to worry so much about wild fires, but there is some risk from Hurricane. If you are going to move to the Miami area, either move inland a little, buy are lease a newer condo (old ones have lots of problem). You should worry some about the cost of insurance (but likely less than California). If you can stand a little cold (not a lot) move to Atlanta Georgia (or even better Alpharetta Georgia). Which has almost as many jobs (especially IT jobs) as California.

I call bullsh!t.....: nobody from California could ever love a florida summer................ever..............and florida is not the cheap living haven it once was (when it was the home of the newlyi-wed and the nearly-dead)

I was there on Wednesday for the new Apple Store event and it is a beautiful city and the most green Apple Store I’ve ever seen. Stayed in citizen M (weird, yet intriguing) but the park across the street with the museums WOW!

I very seldom go there now. Night parking is very expensive. The beach is too loud to rest there. Restaurants are ridiculously expensive and some streets are really dirty. I'm glad I went there long time ago. Now young people don't go there, they go to other places. This guy is talking about people that have lots of money, good for them. South Beach is mostly for the tourists.
@JoeSellsMiamiКүн бұрын
South Beach is definitely not the same as it used to be. It’s evolved into a more upscale destination.

Outsiders should know that hurricane season is more than possible hurricanes. It's most of Summer and part of Fall where it can rain almost anytime. And some days it's really heavy flood rains. And it's not a tropical storm/hurricane.

South Beach is like Time Square, Vegas, est. They used to have character, now they're places to avoid, overpriced, overcrowded cookie cutter tourist traps ... unless you're into being surrounded by tourists taking selfies.

It was an affordable lovely city in the 1960s. It had mom and pop motels nd i tas affordable . Look no one in there right mind thinks miami is affordable these days to live or visit . It is for the ultra wealthy with deep pockets. Then there is the other miami where the majority are living from paycheck to paycheck in absolute poverty . Between outraged common hoa charges insurance property tax ect . It's not worth it at all and there are way more breathtaking places in the world that are affordable and show the usa as it is a poverty stricken nation with a horrible disparity of wealth. Skip the usa period .

Hmmm i wonder why he didn't mention the exorbitant HOA fees that are forcing people out to get the neglected buildings up to current code....or how hard it is to get affordable home insurance or any insurance tied to floods.
@JoeSellsMiami18 күн бұрын
You are absolutely right HOA fees and insurance is a serious pain point right now. It sounds like you’re frustrated with how costly it’s becoming to maintain older buildings with the new structural safety requirements. I’m curious… what changes do you think would actually make a difference for residents dealing with this???

Word of advise. This lifestyle is overrated. Yes, it’s beautiful at a huge price. Rising water levels, insurance costs, now separate wind insurance. Just Airbnb for a month and get out

What do you think would need to change to make living here actually worth it long-term?
@bperez865622 күн бұрын
Most of what was shown are high rises for the Uber rich that benefit no one. It’s just a consumer good. Nothing that benefits the city Like a New York City park for the public etc
@JoeSellsMiami18 күн бұрын
interesting point, what kind of public spaces or projects do you think Miami could prioritize to make the city more accessible and beneficial for everyone?

I used to own a second home in South Beach (Meridian and 9th....which I sold because I couldn't actually afford the mortgage 😮) and I both loved and loathed the area. I loved the art deco, walkability, restaurants, and Lincoln Road but....the beach itself was a little dirty at the time and it seemed that some sort of concert or festival was always taking up space....the smell of weed was constant (great if you indulge, but I don't) and since topless bathing is allowed....you attract gawkers. West Ave is quite nice, as is South of 5th. I would actually consider buying there again...but I presently prefer having a second home in New Orleans (which unfortunately doesn't have a beach area). Ocean Drive can get extremely rowdy, but of course, there are quieter spots to go to.
