Paint job looks great, should shave a second off the lap time minimum. Clear wings help to see out the rear view mirror, only reason I can think of. Maybe they chip easy when you land butter side down. Might just be the wires roughing the surface but the solder on the motor wires looks like they are cold soldered and could use a bit more heat. Looking forward to the race report in the new year.

@tomconnors8165 Those solder joints are terrible, I was in a hurry. They will be re-done before my next track visit. That color scheme goes back with me a long ways. Back in my Nitro on road days. Parking lot racing at the hobby shop twenty years or so ago. So much fun.

My 6.3 is still putting in better lap times than my and my buddy's b7. and the b7 chassis seems pretty fragile. I have seen some kids thrashing 6's and they are tough.

I have a b7 on my desk waiting to be put together. I have never raced, but want to try to play with setup to understand it more and get better at not crashing. I ordered an Agama n110 some time ago just for its looks but know I will biff it first time out if I don't get some time on something that is going to be easier to get parts. I picked up a body and wing from a company called leadfinger who make a kyosho optimaish body for both the b7 and the 6.4 and boy howdy does it look like it is going to win first prize in the swimsuit competion on race day. I picked up my Amain delivery today also, not much for the b7 but did get some colored velcro for it because there is points for style in life even when you are flipped off the track plus its lightweight so gains all around. FYI Amain has rc10ds tires and wheels for sale now, same from the kit.

A lot of the folks I know with the B7 have done around $200 worth of mods & in some ways make it closer to the B6 platform. Moving from the 5 gear back to a 3 gear transmission is one example. Others have changed the rear of the car to use the 73mm arms. I don't find my 6.4 to be uncompetitive with the 7 on the track. Personally I don't care for Reedy motors. All the ones I have tried seem flat compared to other motors, but that may just be my opinion.

@@benjaminthurston6215 The 17.5 class I run uses a locked timing handout motor that I believe you can only get at my track. My 13.5 is a HobbyWing & I have had good luck with it, but I am not sure about their 17.5 motors to be honest.

I am still running my B6.4D. I got it right before the 7 came out & I did not see a reason to upgrade. That one does have a lot of upgraded stuff, but the battery box looks 3d printed. I 3d print as well and have had poor luck printing functional parts for race cars. Materials like PLA and PETG won't really last. If that is made out of an engineering filament like Nylon or Polycarbonate it may be ok. As it stands right now I don't plan to get a B7. I did pick up the 74.2D CE kit not too long ago, but as far as 2 wheel goes I may wait and see if there is a 7.1 and upgrade then.

I got the same set delivered 2 days ago but have not used them yet. I also got some gohobby RC touring for a 1/18 latrax and a set of gohobby unglued w/wheel and a glued set at the same time. I use them on a mini b in a parking lot. I have tried a bunch of Amazon tires, and most are greasy and overpriced at 20+. There is a pack of 24 slicks with foams for crazy cheap, understandably they are not great but they are predictably greasy, fun for a buck a tire. I am trying these and the gohobby ones because the tamiya m chassis ones can get pricey if you get carried away. I will let you know how each goes but not until after the weekend.

I already found out that the foams that come with these aren't going to work with the Traxxas 4tec wheels. I tred an old HPI blue foam and it looked a lot better. The provided foams should work fine for my TT-02, but not for the nitro car. I saw that bunch of slicks on Amazon as well, tempting!

It sounds like it is running in reverse. I'm sure you have but make sure it's calibrated and then turn down the max reverse. The book says that the light is solid red if it is currently turning the wheels trying to drive the car in reverse. I don't think you get a green light when it's at full throttle in reverse only when it's not at max reverse power in the ESC settings. Then you'll know if it's set for reverse or if the power settings are somehow changed. If it is running in reverse swap a and c wires and calibrate it again. That is my guess from reading the book. It does not have a reverse orientation setting. Maybe your end points are off on your radio but the symptoms don't fit that perfectly. What is the deal with the f104 tires? do they need to be on the DS wheel? are they the right alternative? fronts and rears? I have a Reedy 10.5t on the way but have no idea what pinion to use, starting with a 20 but you are going 24,25 so do you think I should get an order in for a larger?

Bushings instead of bearings is a bummer. Standard screws is odd. Looking forward to the build. It looks like the rear camber is all kinds of wrong and some question on the rear shock mounting. The original manual has more detail vs the new so find a download of that. What are the rest of the electronics you plan to use? My box has been on the desk for some time and summer is ending.

It is a bummer about the bushings in a kit that's approaching $400. There are a few other issues that I will outline in the next video. I was planning to use a 1060 and a 17 turn Reedy brushed as my budget for this build is rather tight, but I am considering a Hobbywing brushless set up. If I could afford it I would go all Reedy.
