You don't actually hold them. You just do a quick bump with your hips to lift them and then you insert your hip.,

Just my opinion, but you appear to be demonstrating o-goshi with a non-traditional kumite, not tsurikomi goshi. The throwing action for tsurikomi goshi technique comes from uke stiffening upwards to stop the throw, and then your buttocks pushing backwards on the front of his thighs. You need to have your waist much lower than uke's and your knees bent more for the actual technique to work. Also, your arm should be straight, only slightly tucked to the side of uke (certainly not bent into the armpit like Tai Otoshi) and your thumb forward. Uke should go head over heels, straight and stiff. This is in the Nage No Kata if you want to better understand it. There is is done from a high collar (back of the neck) grip.

According to this video I am executing the Randori Form - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5bMo2ODZrNnZrM . You are correct about the Kata Form. If I ever have to do a Kata, and my Uke has to cooperate 100%, I will dip lower and straighten that arm. We compete under BJJ rules and the stiff arm pointing up is way too unrealistic and dangerous for my taste. I feel like if I ever try the Kata version in Randori, I will get my shoulder blown out. ✌️ I do not like the preoccupation that Judo has of form over function. I do Judo only for the practical aspects of it and I call it throwing a person with a Gi.

I am happy with the performance of one of my students, who went against an opponent that was almost 20 kg heavier than him. He always competed in the Super Heavy Weight Division, even though it was not his division to be in. He showed good jiu-jitsu and received the necessary motivation to lose some weight and compete in the lower category in the future.

Hi. That's what I've been trying to do. Teach it on the same level. Our formula is about 25 % standup and 75 % ground. For No-Gi we have our beginners wrestling exam - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpDTdnx4esZ0lck .Otherwise there is some No-Gi stuff inside the Judo as well.

I think one of it best aspects about judo is the gi. I've never been in a fight that I wasn't wearing a shirt and pants/shorts. It's just so much more realistic and more self defense oriented when you train with a gi and more sports oriented without. Like I said, people fight with clothes on. And even when guys take off their shirts they're still wearing pants. I just prefer the realistic, self defense approach of the gi.

It is mostly different situations and combinations of throws that we practice in every belt level. If you compress the video, it is really only 9,10 throws. We have about 10 new throws per belt, so it comes to about 60 + throws in total. We will soon publish our Orange belt, so stick around.

@@thracejiujitsu4635 those are for single leg. Run the pipe is commonly taught for single leg but I have observed UFC fighters doing a similar motion to finish the double leg. @@MaxLohMusic It's pretty much the same move. You really need to go hard on the flair to succed with it and a lot of people teach it by releasing the other leg and going for a single leg run the pipe. I just like being able to switch back and forth between the double and the run the pipe if one fails.
