Wow...that terrain! Does everyone hate Finland so much they shipped all Heir rocks there? Finland’s national sport must be rock wall building...😳

This is Croatia, Cres island. I guess it had taken centuries to build all those stone walls, but fields and meadows were abandoned a long time ago and are now overgrown with trees. Temperature on race day was about 30 to 35 C ...

Hello and thanks for sharing. I just completed an event where I used my hero 10. What I thought was odd though afterwards, was that the camera broke the one hour run up into 6 segments about 11 minutes each. Does GoPro have an app on their site for merging those clips? Or do I have something set incorrectly on my cam. Im wondering this because I see you and other people like Terje and MP with continuous video. Thanks Also...how do you present this video with the track overlay in the video? Is that another app?
@wire11562 ай бұрын
Yes, all my GoPros do this. I use "Avidemux" (free app) to join the parts to a single file (use MP4 Muxer for export). To make a video with map & route I recommend "Orientview" (also free), for a how-to-description look here: github.com/mikoro/orientview Good luck!

And yeah the mapmaker needs some help with things...the solid road on the way to 14 should have been only a dashed track...if it were me in that area I would have been looking for a very well constructed packed and groomed fire road...
@johnrobertson75833 ай бұрын
Good job on #3 distinguishing that slightly larger spur from the smaller one on the left..that’s always really tough when the vegetation obscures the terrain...did you look back at your track and go “dang, I should have just run 4 of those roads after #2” ? 🤔😏

Hola! Que programa y camara usas oara hacer los videos? Gracias
@wire11563 ай бұрын
Camera: Gopro Hero 11 Mini (on an head-strap) Programs: Quickroute (align GPS track on map), Avidemux (join video-parts to single file, add sound to the final video), Orientview (make video with map). The whole procedue is explained here: github.com/mikoro/orientview Good luck!

Very well done! Especially given the fact that the map has room for improvement .... ;)

Hello and thanks for sharing. I just got a hero10 and see reviews that it only runs about an hour on a single battery. A Ukrainian guy says he uses a powerbank for extended capture. What do you have for external power for longer sessions? Thanks and good run...except you followed that kid off the road, and then paralleled the road by 10 meters!!! Happens to me a lot too...lol. I do usually go the extra few steps to get to a track, as generally our events run thru areas with a lot of deadfall and rootstock with hidden stumpholes.
@wire11565 ай бұрын
My races (M55-) are rarely longer than 70 min, the Hero 11 Mini can handle this length without external power. Another headcam-youtuber (Kiziev) mentions on his channel that he is using the Goji 5000 mAh Powerbank. Cheers!

Der 1er war ein tricky Einstieg 🙂, ich hatte meinen großen Fehler bei 14 (vorbeigelaufen und dann herumgeirrt) . Danke für das Video!

Hmmmm…your mapmakers certainly take a lot of latitude in vegetation descriptions…examples at #3 are its definitely not open land on the east of that route you took…its questionable if its even a distinct path…as it disappeared a few times…leaving 3 to the east to 4 thats certainly not slow forest initially…

How big is Orientering in Germany? Also do you use SportIdent to “stamp”?
@wire11566 ай бұрын
I am in Austria. Orienteering is not a big sport here, about 500-600 starters at national events. We use Sportident Air (touchfree), so usually I don't have to stop at the control....
@elje0ett6 ай бұрын
@@wire1156 Oh sorry. The sport is way smaller in Austria compared to Switzerland or Germany?
@wire11566 ай бұрын
Yes, smaller than in Switzerland, but probably more popular than in Germany.

Hallo Wi****, darf ich erfahren wie du die Karte mit dem GPS verknüpft hast? Coole Sache deine Videos 🙂
@wire11567 ай бұрын
Danke! LG, WR

Hello and thanks for sharing. Could you possibly make your track a little more solid? Its tricky to see when you are on a section of map that has a dense color...thanks. Also...at 28 sounds like youre running in cleats. I guess aggressive shoes are the best choice for the woods. Good route choices.
@wire11568 ай бұрын
Thanks, I think you are right, I'll change that in the next O-Video! Cheers
@johnrobertson75838 ай бұрын
That was a bad setting of #2 if it really was that far up the re-entrant as your track showed...what did you think?
@wire11568 ай бұрын
Yes, all runners agreed that #2 was too far up in the re-entrant.

Do you know that GoPro 11 has a level function, then you can avoid the tilting of the camera(It is in Lens settings: Linear +Horisontal Leveling:-) But nice anyway.
