Your poor lathe is moving all around. Add 100 pounds to it. Your cuts will be cleaner.

Unfortunately my lathe is bolted to a wooden floor that moves slightly which makes it wobble a lot under heavy weights like this one. Upgrading soon fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks for posting this nice "primitive" piece, love the stitching. I really enjoy watching young people learn the secrets of woodworking. One of those "secrets" is that more often than not the true beauty of a piece is in it's imperfections.
