Does gus have kids? Or was it a manipulation strategy to pretend?

Maybe that's why Gus was a more successful leader than Walt. Gus put the the business before everything but Walter put himself before everything

Gus is just more experienced. He was building a super lab and working with kingpins and cartel leaders while Walter was teaching kids about carbon.

Good analysis, I can see why you thought of Walt this way, however, I would have to disagree with some points as - Walt is annoyed with Gus...the difference between Walt and Gus is that Gus is a character with no morals, whereas Walt tries to desperately cling to them, while making the decision that is necessary. They are one and the same character, we hate Gus and love Walt in season 4 without realizing that Walt is becoming Gus. If Walt would've quit cooking after S4, he would've been the hero and majority audience wouldn't have seen any wrongs with his actions, would've justified them as necessary. But...after taking down the biggest drug lord, Walt feels satisfaction and the power. He feels the self actualization that in his mind should've been his all along (which it should've been) because of Gretchen and Elliot. Walt gets sucked in by this feeling, but doesn't want to admit it, is hiding from it until he has to admit it to himself (and Skyler) at the end of the show. Hank said it best - he's the smartest guy in the room at all times, yet he's too stupid to realize his and other's emotions.

Walt doesn't destroy his relationship with Gus because he doesn't like Gus, he does it to save Jesse (his remaining morals). Gus decides to then eliminate Walter after this point, but loses at his own game. Majority of Walt's problems come from Jesse, yet everyone keeps acting like he's the victim...people forget that Jesse would've been dead or a bum if not for Walt. Sicked and tired of this Jesse victim narrative

I really disagree with the take of an "Extravagant home" on Gus' side. The very fact that he was happy with living in such a "normal" home despite his means shows that he has what it takes to go unnoticed in the long term. While the scene with Walter contrasts how he could never be satisfied with that.

Nah you miss the point. Gus was Jesse. The chemist he was fucking was Walter. That's why he tries to give Walter a shot. You can tell Gus sees his former partner in Walter then sees himself in Jesse.

Correction: Gus did not have children. It was all an elaborate ruse to make Walt feel he's relatable as a family man.

After watching BCS and Breaking Bad, Gus may have been a scumbag but he did everything for his goals. Walter did it because of his ego and not wanting help from others. Gus was the hero of both shows.

Gus was one scary sumbitch. The 'Box Cutter' episode was extremely intense. Those, what, 10 minutes, he was absolutely silent and yet sent that message loud and clear. He reminded me of The Predator, a silent but deadly killer in plain sight. He didn't have to be loud and boisterous to be an evil monster. His calmness got the point across much better.

Walt is a narcissist. Gus is a psychopath. Everything Walt does is driven by emotion - completely fueled by ego. Everything Gus does is driven by logic - completely void of emotion….like a robot.

I actually think that Gus is a more "moral" person. Not really, but he atleast just wants things to flow naturally. In Gus's ideal world nobody needs to get injured. While Walt is more of a ticking bomb like Mike said. Willing to do anything to be at the top. Yeah, Gus had dealers who used kids, but he wanted them to stop to keep the peace between Walt and him. And once he heard that the dealers had killed the kid, he said that he would have dealt with them if Walt hadn't. I don't think Gus would've allowed that because he values profesionalism. And killing kids is not proffesional.

I just today, literally today about 1 hour ago completed the last episode. Holy smokes, we (with my friends) have started watching this since the Oct-2022 and it is today 8th Sep-2023. BB has shared all seasons, be it winter, summer or monsoon we used to watch it on the terrace in the home projector under the open sky. This one is one of my most memorable moments in life 🤟

0:00 THIS is the scene that separates Breaking Bad from Better Call Saul. I followed Giancarlo Esposito’s advice and, even though I had already watched BB before BCS, I rewatched BCS first and then BB. Almost all of BCS and BB is similar, up until this moment. Mike has been in this situation too many times: Having the upper hand by making sure he’s the guy holding the gun. Walt revealing he knows the address of the guy who was SUPPOSED to replace him changes everything. Mike has never been in this situation in BCS, a situation where he’s holding the gun and yet it means absolutely nothing.

Nice try but no. There were some out here who were supporting and rooting for Hank and his colleagues in the DEA. We understood why Walter was behaving the way he was but having spent a life in the service of their community, as veterans, teachers, etc. Would rather die than break bad! I am halfway through a twenty year death sentence of kidney disease. I have the medical and chemical knowledge to make far more money than either Gus or Walt. So why not break bad, leave my family with more money than my pathetic pensions will ever provide? The answer is very simple and if you watch Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and El Camino, then don't get it. Seek professional help because you really need it.
