What a wonderful story of strength of this young teen faced with the deadly disease. My heart goes out to his family. I had a sister who died at 18 from osteo- sarcoma. You know she died in 1974 and the survival rate for this cancer that usually occurs in young teens still remains quite grim even after 47 years.

This is the sweetest story. I've watched this more than once. Not to take away from what this is about, not when Les said he told Sid he loved him, I don't know why the guy asked Les why.? I'm so glad that picture of them hugging was taken.

God only knows what's best for us. He has a plan for every person on earth. We might not understand it now, but we will some day. It doesn't stop the pain, but we'll be joined by our loved ones in God's time.

I cannot imagine the loss a parent and family feels when their child faces a terminal illness. Next time I'm feeling self pity for the illnesses I have, I'm going to think of Sid and the unimaginable pain and suffering he went through while keeping a good attitude. Sometimes life sure sucks!

Beautiful and so sad. My 21 year old nephew Paul died recently of the same disease. How he fought! He fought mostly for his father, his family...he knew his Mother was waiting for him in Heaven. He saw her before he passed. He told me he was ready. I know the celebration was big in Heaven that day just as SID too was welcomed Home! Cancer: I wish you'd leave us all alone, especially our children!!

My 26 year old son-in-law died in 2001 from osteosarcoma. It started in his left knee. He had an above knee amputation and chemo. We thought he had beaten it, but it came back in his lung. My poor daughter was devastated.
