I've been to CTG and other places there and have been watching videos over a year so I'm knowledgeable about the country. I do not stay in the barrios so your experience is different from mine. What I've done is made contacts and friends to bypass paying the gringo prices ( not always ) to negotiate lower prices. Seeing a vlog from a different view is the city is good. Thanks for sharing

I honestly have to say all the times I have been to Cartagena I stay in the Barrios not in the Tourist areas. For me being among the locals gives me what I'm in Colombia for to know the people and culture. I also feel safer there as the criminals are usually targeting tourists in the tourist areas not near their homes. No Gringo prices in the local restaurants and stores of the barrios either. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have stayed in $12 per a night hotel in Cartagena with a clean and beautiful room and hot water in a decent neighborhood completely walkable at night. But honestly, I don't mind a cold shower when it's so hot everyday it's nice to get cooled off.

Colombia... and there's nothing wrong with visiting the country. Many foreigners from around the world visit and live there. His video is showing a different perspective of the city many do not know about. It's the same as someone going to New York and showing the bad parts of the city.

Wish I knew you were in P.A. I live in Kutztown. We could have explored the town. Maybe hike up to Hawk Mountain. Or hit up a casino in the Poconos. Next time I suppose. I'm from Connecticut. But kinda like living amongst the Amish n Mennonite community. Farm living all around me. Cool since I grew up in a project. #9 out of 10. Irish Catholic family. Great memories of Cartagena when I was on vacation, the women there are very beautiful,.The first thing that shocked me was the number of womens there were, it's like 20 womens for 1 man and they are all very willing to spend some quality time in your airbnb in exchange for a few dollars lol^^.Good food,very good shopping center especially serezuela,nice beach my favorite is Makani luxury wanderlust beach club and and the Fortress of San Felipe of Barajas,this is the monument that most marked me in Cartagena.I felt safe everywhere in the city the police have a strong presence and do her job for protect the tourist.The only thing that's a pity in Cartagena is the aggressiveness of the street vendors + the sweltering heat between 11.30 a.m. and 5 p.m + there's no chicharron for that you have to go to barranquilla by bus.Otherwise apart from this Cartagena is really a place to visit <3

I went to Cartahena 29 years ago ago. Long before it became a so called "Western World" vacation spot. I met some very nice Colombians. And you could get a Lobster dinner with a bottle of wine at a nice restaurant for only $20.

I once wanted to do a coffee table book on Greek Dinners the big ones where theirs all kinds of breads and pastries and all the specialties and full breakfast Lunch Dinner. Pics of the Staff and owners the atmosphere. Like going from NY to California or something! Maybe someday!
