I have no bad feelings for these kids and throw zero shade at them. But I will admit it killed me just a tiny bit when they kept calling everything "bongos."

" It's 11 minutes that's crazy. "< probabably was torture for him because most attention he has given to anything in life was 10 seconds.

If you continue down this road with tool, keep the lyrics going. Would love to see the "full" wings for marie reaction, when they know and understand the story. :)

Terrible song to introduce a rookie to the world of Tool. I mean, I love this song, but for a non-metal listener it’s hard to digest.

It's funny, I guess you have to be used to Maynard's personality, sense of humor and opinions on humanity to understand a lot of what Tool lyrics are about. Once you know him, deciphering meanings is MUCH easier. But the fact that the kid can't hear the social commentary in the fact that a human was visited by aliens and given, basically, the "key to everything" by them and all he could do was forget his writing instrument and shit the bed is bothering me, lol. It ain't THAT hard if you listen. This is a commentary on how stupid humans can be in the face of something world-changing and its one of the best I've heard, lol.

If you think this song is about doing drugs, that says more about you than this song. There’s no DMT - there is “Yogi DMT” - just meditation, resulting in the enlightenment that DMT is alleged or claimed to lead to. There’s no acid - “the Dead ain’t touring” This is simply “If the craziest shit you thought was make believe and fantasy and drug-fueled hallucinations happened to you, What the fuck would you do?” Knowing no one would believe you and they would instead think you were crazy or on drugs… If it was true, could you handle seeing it? Or would you shit the bed?

“How does the X remember X?” It’s just flow and repetition. The songs aren’t just about trips they are one too. They don’t need and may not all even be able to sight read sheet music. They do not play to click tracks it’s all cued off each other, mostly Danny.

Every bit of percussion you’re hearing is performed by one man, all at the same time, the octopus, Danny Carey. And yes, he still performs this live at age 64.

Thinking they can’t play this without sheet music is pretty absurd. They practice together all the time for several years. They’re in sync. All professional classical pianists performing a 30 minute concerto by Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven, etc have that shit locked down in their memory and most of them are extremely difficult to play even with sheet music

I am Tool fan, and Rosetta Stone is one of the few songs I struggled to like at the beginning, so I understand them (I am Gen Z too). I think Eulogy is a good choice, because it is accesible but has some of that Tool craziness

This song refers to a familiar and relatable feeling most of us have on psychedelic substances sometimes. When you are high as a kite and suddenly you have an epiphany, like you discovered something, something new, something nobody has ever thought about. Like an answer for it all. And then you come down from whatever substance and completely forget what it was, not a single clue. You are just left with the feeling of it. It's a strange feeling and actually very funny in my opinion, like some higher dimensional entity making a mockery of you in that instance. This song is very relatable to me and i fully understand that feeling Maynard is talking about. Born to bear and read to all Details of our ending To write it down for all the world to see But i forgot my pen. This part is hilarious
