adding more warehouses DOES increase the storage cap, the 22500 is the total shared between ALL warehouses, the 7500 is EACH warehouse, therefore once an individual warehouse reaches 7500 you must build /connect to another

Hi I'm the guy that commented on the last video, all warehouses share storage, so it doesn't matter which one you connect to
@nico371
@nico371 Күн бұрын
33:35 If you hover over the warehouse parcel button it explains that all warehouses share the same storage, but their total storage is combined. So that particular warehouse has a storage of 3500 but since you have 3 of them the total combined storage is 10500 The reason you are running out of coal is because you were using 1 coal miner to supply every building with coal. You really should have a separate miner for the power plants and for your production buildings to avoid this in the future As for your questions about throughput: The extractors have an unlimited output speed but the production parcels have 8 (16 with the upgrade). So if a production parcel is generating more than 16 you either have to hook it up to multiple parcels or to multiple nodes. Each parcel has a different input and output throughput that you should look into, as it is very beneficial to know when designing optimal factories

nice nice! congrats! I made two blueprints for my MAM I really like. one is a module that checks all lanes (12) for a wire input and trashes anything that doesnt match. so I can check for any criteria I want. and second is one that trashes everything that comes in... until all 12 belts are full then allows them to pass. this helps keep inputs uniform.

im going to be honest, im not sure I understand your wiring. you can read the color and shape of the upper right corner with analyzer. I use that as a starting point for all my wiring, one for each quarter.. with the painting, my thought process is, dont read the belt, you know the shapes are uncolored. read the incoming color, then match it to a signal you set. so for example, if the incoming signal is unpainted, send it to the bypasser. create a signal that says red, if the incoming signal is red, go to the red painter. repeat for all colors. although with pipe filters now, we can make just one painter and just pipe in the correct color. unless im missing something

0:25 Fun fact, you can't "uncolor" a crystal. Probably because crystals can't be painted in the first place. So, if you need to check uncolored crystal, you need a different method (I went with creating a pin signal and passing it through a virtual crystalizer with "uncolored" as color input) 29:10 It may not have been available when you recorded this, but there's now an option on the Equal gate to change it to a "Not Equal" gate, so you don't need to use space on the individual Not gate. 🙃 Can also set it to < or > variants!
@Zahait
@Zahait 4 күн бұрын
wait why would you need to check uncolored crystal? How do you even make an uncolored crystal? that cant exist can it?? And regarding your second point, and a comment i just made to someone else, if there is a hard way to do something I tend to do that :D its not on purpose.. or is it...?

@@Zahait ... I just tried to explain, and even after looking back at my wire logic I'm not sure I'm explaining the reasoning properly LOL 😅 I'll just say, this came up when I was trying to create an override signal based on if the entire layer being built is comprised of crystal. 🙃

@Zahait You probably want to put coordinates in tuples, not arrays: harvested.append((currLoc[0], curreLoc[1])). Tuples are immutable, and can therefore also be used as keys in dictionaries, whereas lists, which are mutable, cannot be used as keys.

Hey Zahait! Big fan! You can feed belt filters a signal that contains a shape and colour, and if the contents of the belt is the same it will bypass (go down the tick), if not it goes on the x. Colour is important as well, so you might need to shape analyse or grey-paint for pre-painted shapes. Either way, you don’t need to be using the belt sensors to do the equals checks everywhere!

I didnt realize there was a shape analyzer so i made this whole MAM without it xD which is maybe why my wiring looks WAY more complicated than it needs to be haha regardless i did get to a functioning solution! and that is the most important part, right?? The thing I like about this series is that, unlike the other super-optimized builds on those channels that look a bit overwhelming, this is not perfect, but it works. The process to that point is starting to motivate me to try to attempt a MAM😅. I have to say I saw this one guy with a MAM that has a big output and big factory, but I wonder how long that took him as he did it a few days after the game's release while I was still busy with the story and my blueprint builds😂.

Huh, an idle factory game... interesting. At least you don't have to worry about belting everything everywhere. However I can see myself not liking this game. First thought is because I think idle games and factory games are for different purposes that don't gel well together. One is for making a number get bigger quicker, the other is for designing a system that can take things and turn them into other things. Obviously the similarity is "make more of end product quicker" but with idle games there's just one end product: the number. Factory games have multiple end products that most of the time aren't even end products, like Yellow Bels in Factorio, they thems3elves are used in their upgraded version etc.
@Zahait
@Zahait 4 күн бұрын
I think factory games are just idle games that promote active play. I know plenty of people who play factory simulators like idle games. This game seems to be doing it well allowing for you to idle thru points for resources OR jack up your productions so you don’t have to wait. With is essentially just a factory sim. Anyway there is still a lot for me to check out and I’m far from being sold on it myself but I don’t mind the direction. I really hope they clean up the UI a bit and make copying and pasting easier to do.

Looking good so far! As others have pointed out, there's this handy thing called a "shape analyzer", looks like a magnifying glass icon. Typically you would use THIS to break your shape into it's constituent pieces, including what color each piece is supposed to be. I only used what you have here to filter out unwanted pieces after each assembly step, since it comes pre-painted, though you could also just recombine the color and shape with the paint simulator like you were testing out at the end.

ohhhhh I love your bypasser! so much better than the one I made. I took an entire platform just to bypass..... I do think you have the equal rotated wrong. the two inputs that it compares come from the side and outputs the result into the middle output. not sure how you got it working otherwise. as for the color, there is a shape analyzer. you input a shape signal and it will read only the upper right corner, one output will give you the shape of the upper right corner, one output will give you the color of the upper right corner. you can then use that signal to send it to the correct colorizer. or actually now with fluid filters, we can add the correct color to a single painting module.

I'm going to hold off on suggestions so I can watch the authentic struggle ☺ Already you're doing better than I was when I started off. I was pretty insistent about making my first MAM handle at least 4 belts LOL! I was also reusing my blueprints instead of making new platform builds... at least until I had to wire it all up, but that wound up just being wires added into my blueprints... messy 😅 NOTE: You don't need a signal generator for NULL, a wire with no signal is NULL, so to compare for NULL you just don't hook up one side of the logic gate 😉 I'm almost to the MAM in Insane mode. The shapez in this mode are just... silly. And the shape "sequences" often just rearrange and/or repaint themselves entirely, requiring frequent rebuilds unless I properly planned ahead for specific changes in the sequence. Going to aim to complete the second Random Shape with this next MAM, meaning CRYSTALS! Woo... 🙃
