@@738mos2 Youmu's focused shot (let's call it "slash" for simplicity) does damage based on distance. To put it simply, if you slash at correct distance, you will do more damage. The distance is NOT linear: you will do very little damage if you stay too close, or too far. There are sweet spot / crit spots where the slashes do massive damage, and those distances are what you want to be at. The side slash does a lot of damage in TD in particular (WBaWC nerfs the side slash by a lot), but it's still weaker than optimal spots under the boss. These things you kinda need to experiment around to get an idea, so try booting up some spellcards and test it. I made an image to demonstrate the DPS but it's on the main touhou discord. As for the hitbox, it's fake news by ZUN. Or maybe he just couldn't implement it correctly. The conclusion is "No, Youmu doesn't have smaller hitbox at any point when slashing". Lastly, if you want to optimize Youmu's DPS, you need to: - Position correctly (refer to the sweet spot distances I mentioned above) - Squeeze in some unfocus shot (you want to slash by releasing the focus button, not the shoot button) - Better timing on the slash (too late and you slash very few times, too early and you will completely miss a slash)

@@AnbeePrrr it depends on how well you can hit the shots. - Strongest is green (wood) shotgunning, but you need to do it correctly (it can do highest dps in game) - Next is the backshot, but you need to headsit shotgun - Next is blue (water) if you can hit at least 3~4 lines - Only after that, would red (fire) comes, and the dps it does is quite mediocre. That being said, if you bottom hug and stay under boss, then it's your only option to do any ok-ish damage - We don't talk about side shot dps

@@Nome287 I believe the backshot can do more damage than the water shot without headsit shotgun depending on how close you are to the boss, due to the damage cap and how the earth options are at different vertical positons? If you hit all 4 earth shots on the same frame, it's weaker, but in the right position, it's almost as strong as headsit shotgun. I'm not sure how large the sweetspots are, unfortunately.

@@AFDKLJKH Yeah this game has lots of interesting safe spots. There are a few more "funny and safe-ish" spots that we have discovered recently too (examples: st3 laser when Yuugi is on screen; st5 orin mid nons). My run is old so it doesn't have these xd.

Lo que significa que cosas como el skip a Cat's Walk no es probablemente lo más optimo para un 1cc, porque estarías perdiendo 3 pedazos de vida (en el ataque azul, el ataque rojo y Cat's Walk) y aun así necesitas ser capaz de hacer timeout al ataque azul lo suficientemente bien y de forma segura para que valga la pena. De todas formas, buena suerte con tus intentos para hacer clear con esos dos últimos disparos !

You are welcome! However, this is a very outdated strat made back when the game first came out. It's very likely that more strats have showed up now, and it would be much better to follow those instead xd.

Thanks ! For SoR, I actually don't know the optimal way to kill it. So if that actually works better, it could have been done that way sure. I was going to change my SoR route after this cause my friend (also a MoF LNN player) recommended something like that too ... but well, I got the run by accidents anyways xd.

Thanks !!! 4M to LNN was a very big surprise! I can probably get 2M or something if I keep resetting until a good st4 (which was actually what I was trying to do). I just happened to get godlike pwg rng. Also, Momiji speedkill is a very good strat for MarisaC, since she is the best shot at capping the waterfall spam afterward (like 90% consistency if you know how to do it). As for nervourness, I didn't have them actually. Mostly cause I got used to it with the other LNN run. But also the fact I can usually pull off perfect st5 and st6 a lot (most of my MoF LNBs were like that). As for the time spent, I have played MoF for a long time since last year, and got 4M at around 160h mark. This 4M -> LNN took around 25~30 extra hours (so I'm around 190h mark for MoF alone right now).

​@@Nome287 That sure is a lot of patience. I took 60-ish hours over two months or so to get NNN and I thought that was very exhausting.

It was more of a patience test rather than a skill test for sure. Are you planning to go up to higher difficulties? You can easily clean up lots of HNBs with low-mid misses; which can kickstart to LNBs too.

@@Nome287 I've played some lunatic, but I never upload it because it's embarrassing. I'm not good enough for LNB. I don't have high level 2hu goals.

Some of them even reached 2k attempts XD. It actually boils down to just purely practice key patterns with thprac to save time, so attempts and caps count will skyrocket. ... But yeah, LNNs requires lots of practice.

Yeah it's from Byakuren. It does 2 things: Significantly increase bomb effect; reduce active cards cooldown. Also, the English patch should be out now!
