Terrific video. Kudos to the drone pilot. Beautiful F25C in its element

what is the pitch stability like on these boats? Is it prone to pitchpoling at all?

not at all, its a great bow design for surfing wind swell and out side reef swells I much prefer this to any reverse bow design.. probably not impossible to stuff the bow tho so keep the weight aft

Mainland hapa here, jus' got bak to SoCal afta sail'n Kaneohe Bay (watch out fo doz coral heads ... as well as jar heads headed out to the K-bay sandbar!). More 2 the point, luv see'n da wind off o' da South Shore. Looking to buy an Astus 16.5 for solo mainland (SoCal) harbor-hopp'n. What's your experience w/ rigging time/effort an Astus 16.5? Is raising the mast doable fo fit kapuna (67 y.o.)?

Aloha Braddah!! You found it wow!! hard to get exposed to these boats through research or word of mouth(coconut wireless) for 9 months in Kaneohe i trailered boat to heeia to launch.. made a little rigging system to lift the mast with the boom as the gin pole and a heavy duty light stand to support the mast.. setup is about an hour and break down is about 2 hours but A lot of time was wasted because people always want to talk about the boat.. I fight myself sometimes because of the cost of everything shipping was really bad because of the demuraging fees I was fined, but there’s no slips available for the next few years here so even if I had a bigger boat I’d have nowhere to keep it.. I really wanna build boats like this soon so stay tuned

I'll assume that you are enjoying it. Where is the gennaker? It makes the boat.

I use it if wind is very light or I have a second third person I usually don’t use it when it’s good wind off shore.. I was considering making an in between screecher from the Geneker pole fitting for something in between.. what do you think??

@@3in1skillet20 I like mine when the wind gets up around 15 to 20. The thing pulls like mad. First time I tried it in that much wind I realize my sailing gloves weren't up to the task. It ruined them in one outing.

@@TomKirkman1 I put in some cleats which I was advised not to but man it’s so hard to hold on to the gen sheet!! I was actually gonna put another pulley to get a little purchase but that would mean there’d be a zigzag of line on the trampoline
