I'm confused, how are there rookies in the race if this is the Advanced Mazda MX5 Cup Series? Isn't that a minimum of Class C?
@ShepparddАй бұрын
The rookies showing on the leaderboard are AI drivers added into our weekly test server for my iRacing setup shop team (outlierspeedco.com/). We add some AI for testing to get a better feel when driving the car in a large pack, and they're also just fun to mess around with and battle in practice. The usual tell for a real driver vs. AI on a standings overlay from apps like Racelab, Kapps, etc, is if there's an iRating value displayed next to the Rookie license. Rookie drivers, though not displayed on the iRacing app anywhere, still earn and lose iRating as rookies. If you see a rookie license with an iRating value, it's a real person. If it's blank, then AI.

@@GluecksGaertner nice time! it’s pretty tough this week, especially with the night time and the cool track. tire warmup takes a solid 3-4 laps. i know some drivers will pull as low as 56.0 this week, which feels like a massive amount to find with the limited corners. i think part of my issue is that i right foot brake and its hard through the first few corners to switch pedals quick enough to keep the car balanced

@@GluecksGaertner its also worth noting that you can turn in slightly earlier at turn 4 , running the right side of the car over the inside kerbing, to get a better line and carry more through the corner + get on throttle earlier. i ran out slightly wide on this lap but it was my fastest race time

2:49.662 race fuel lap with slight slipstream through the last section from Coates slowing up. Learned this layout today and am still feeling very inconsistent without the muscle memory through the "Grand Course" infield section especially. Dropped to a low 49 on quali fuel but hoping to improve throughout the week to consistent 49s in race pace and down to 48s in qualifying. Focus will probably be on the SCCA Runoffs and PCC @ Homestead though

Unfortunate for this lap to actually achieve the new qualifying WR as it was my first race + laps in general of the day and I felt that I under-drove a couple corners relative to normal Q laps for the week, but running on an absolutely awesome track state in this specific session. Definitely left the door open for a couple more tenths and to take the record time down to a potential 42.5-42.6 opt. Was able to consistently pull down throughout this week from my 23S2 WR lap of 1:43.4 into high 42s-low 43s. Was able to grab a 42.7 race WR lap as well! 42.916 that felt on a bit more of an edge: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h53VlJ6AZslrjtE

32.9 opt for this session with a couple mistakes on this lap, slightly wide through t11 and slightly deep into the downhill t17 braking zone, riding the kerbing on exit with a slight snap
@Sheppardd3 ай бұрын
Worth noting that this was my first proper test session with this combo and I finished the session out with a couple improved lap times but invalidated, and a 33.2 optimal for race fuel with these conditions. I’m planning to grab a much more confident lap today to replace this one. Most notable mistake compared to an optimal time on this lap is running slightly wide/off apex at T3, where ideally I'd like to brake a little later + turn in slightly earlier with the experience I have now. Also forgot the steering wheel overlay here. Cheers

HTC VIVE (original/1080p), NVIDIA 3080TI GPU, I9-9900K CPU, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero board, Corsair Vengeance 64GB ram. This was recorded a couple years ago but regardless of specs, I think what makes this single screen interpretation look so clear is the plugin I used to capture it within OBS. I used OpenVR input 1.1 (obsproject.com/forum/resources/openvr-input-plugin.534/) which gives a more accurate field of view and less warped perspective by pulling a feed directly from the mirror surface in full res, vs doing a display capture or window capture of my SteamVR/AC window.
