i do the typical 12% crop top and bottom in premiere to give it somewhat of a more "film" look i believe 16:9 crops in even more.

Some thoughts...This piece would be helped a great deal with some image stabilization. You didn't mention what editing software you use so I don't know what you have at your disposal. The text at the beginning over the shacky video at the beginning just doesn't work. I haven't shot any video with my FX30 using Flexible ISO and I was wondering why you chose to use it. Regarding SLog3, given the often high-contrast scenes, especially the ones with the sky, I think Cine EI would have been a better choice. The FX30 is a great camera. Spend time figuring out SLog 3 and Cine EI. Do lots of tests, and keep detailed notes of your shooting. Makes figuring out what worked and didn't much easier.

I shot in 24p so I couldn’t slow the footage like 60p and help remove some of the shakes. Doesn’t help that the sigma 24-70 doesn’t have OSS. Yeah I went back and forth on the text and not sure if I like it or not but oh well. I chose flexible iso because out of all the tests I’ve seen cine EL hasn’t looked any cleaner. I appreciate the feedback and will keep working! I wanted the footage to have a handheld look though, the small shakes are all part of it so I’m okay with it.

I specifically framed all these shots knowing I wasn’t going to use warp stabilizer because it crops the image (I’m using premiere pro).

@@NickSinko I think hand-held is fine - it is the jerky movements that don't work. If you watch good hand-held work there are no jerky movements. One thing that improves hand-held work is heavier equipment. It dampens those jerky movements. I would not depend on 60P or higher frame rates to smooth out the video. Speaking of over 35 years of doing hand-held camera work.

this bike was stage 1 intake/vance and hines FP3, and vance and hines short shots with no baffles.
