You know what? I am a regular viewer of your KZbin Channel. I have seen all your videos and your content qualities are very good. I learned lots of things from you. Your channel has great quality contents but still it is not delivering its right audiences due to SEO problems. You should focus on your SEO so that You can get a big fanbase. Thanks.

Does using the android version mean you need to buy an additional licence as I thought the app licence is specific to the OS / platform?
@ExplorOz-Traveller
@ExplorOz-Traveller Ай бұрын
Yes these AI box adapter enable you to run a full Android OS via your headunit display so that you can access the Google Playstore (which you cant via CarPlay only headunits) so yes you then buy an Android licence for any app you want to use on that headunit such as ExplorOz Traveller. Only a one time payment of $59.99 no extras.

@@ExplorOz-Traveller Hi, Thanks for the reply. We already have an iOS licence (and online access to the app) and wanted to have access via Apple CarPlay... the above seems like a very expensive alternative. Thanks, Fausto

@@faustopighin it wouldn’t be an issue if the headunit gave access to the app stores so yeah this is the only cheaper solution to replacing the Headunit.

Does the app work on headunits with Apple Car play?
@ExplorOz-Traveller
@ExplorOz-Traveller Ай бұрын
To view the app on a Headunit you must have an Android operating system - either an Android headunit or an Android AI box adapter to your CarPlay headunit. We have documented these options on the Traveller webpage FAQ in the Headunits section. See www.exploroz.com/traveller or watch our KZbin episode about Android AI Boxes. These are new technology to solve the issue everyone with a non- Android headunit has when trying to access app not listed in the CarPlay system (thousands of apps are not).

We’ve tried a few - that particular one is for iPhone with inductive charge. They do fall off occasionally but not related to 4wd, can happen randomly but not too frequently. Eg. 2-3 times in the last 5 months of our trip across Australia so far. It’s just a random purchase off eBay or maybe JBHifi? About $40. Sorry don’t have the exact details.

How do you enter in gps coordinates to navigate to? Ive tried in the search magnifiing glass but the coords location wont show up (tried all the places/address etc.)
@ExplorOz-Traveller
@ExplorOz-Traveller 2 ай бұрын
Hi - you need to press the pin this opens the create place tool - simply overwrite the lat/long coordinates it captures then save. Wait for it to sync then tap the marker it creates on the map snd use navigation as with any other place.

Happy to go an external bluetooth GPS like Garmin to add to an Android tablet 10 inch but still confused re specs needed like storage size, RAM, ROM, CPU, Android version and GPU to use your mapping software. At present a current member using it on my old Windows 10 PC with latest downloads and maps from you guys but need to move to tablet. Is wifi an advantage on device. If $1000 required, fine. Something like Samsung Tab S9?
@ExplorOz-Traveller
@ExplorOz-Traveller 2 ай бұрын
Hi Steve if you buy an Android tablet like the S9 then it will have the GPS receiver built in - no need to buy or connect to an external GPS receiver such as the Garmin Glo - these are only needed for devices without built in GPS (ie Windows devices and Wifi only iPads.) There are no specific specs required for the app to run on as all modern devices are well speced just you will get better performance (faster screen response , less crashing, etc) when you buy a BETTER spec device - ie spend more money. In the Samsung range the S model tablets have better specs and performance than the A model tablets. With Apple iPads they dont make different spec iPads other than size, storage and with/without SIM card and GPS. Hope this helps. Its all in the documentation on System Requirements on the Traveller webpage - www.Exploroz.com/traveller if you need further clarification. Hope that helps. Don’t overthink it 👌🤣

Hi, new user here, love the app and have been watching all the tutorials, very helpful. One thing I cannot figure out while planning navigation / trips is how to change the start point for navigation (always defaults to current location / position). I don't always want to start from home... Thanks, Fausto
@ExplorOz-Traveller
@ExplorOz-Traveller 2 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 please look through the Help Guides as one of them is named Creating Routes and covers your query. Essentially the first place you add to your plan is your start point of choice then add additional places to route along. When you save your current location is not saved so you can open your Trek when you reach your start point with all routing saved for offline turn by turn navigation.

You say there is native title and mines on the new 2024 eotopo map but this is false, we are in exploration in west qld and have found the new update that costs almost $50 to be completely useless, espescially when the sattelite pictures havnt been updated for over 5 years, we are in the middle of an opal mining field surrounded in native title but you would not know that by using your app, no wonder we have travellers tresspassing all over the place being a menace to our existance

We dont own or update the satellite images only the EOTopo data. For native title areas we used the latest public data from NTDR. Is the area you refer to shown shaded light brown/yellow? That indicates native title determined. You are welcome to raise a support ticket and send screenshots if you wish to discuss further or share details.

@@brownsnake9750 no your referring to the map overlay content (Places) but the actual base map data shows shaded land usage areas, roads/tracks etc - that base map data is EOTopo.

I love the traveller app. I use it to find routes to travel. But nothing beats a paper map. you need to scroll around on an app but its all in front of you on a paper map.. unless you are driving or walking miles. And the best thing about a paper map is that when you are really lost with no idea where you are. You can use it to light a signal fire.

Excellent video Michelle & David at Whitford Nodes just a few km from my home in Sorrento, so I know it well. I found both Michelle's & David's explanations very interesting and informative. I have been an ExplorOz Traveller member for almost 3 years and find it very useful. I have an 8" android tablet (I don't like Apple) and it has worked well for me as per JebW's comments below and doesn't take up much room in my 4WD. It is the Samsung SM-T575 Active3 4G 64GB wfi & GPS, SIM on Telstra, running Android 13, with spare batteries easily inserted. I also carry a Samsung Note 20 Ultra mobile phone, a Garmin Overlander GPS unit as backup away from internet signals (but prefer ExplorOz Traveller), an ACR PLB and a Tharaya XT Pro satellite phone. I found David's advice excellent and clear but also Michelle's knowledge and explanation informative too. I did like Michelle's way of explaining, as much as David's technical expertise, and her little talk about ravens versus crows too was nice. ExplorOz Traveller product is tremendous for this country and I have recommended it to others, including my son, and friends. Congratulations to you both on the great effort you are putting in to provide this to our community. Also, your KZbin videos are terrific assistance to help us use ExplorOz Traveller and all its benefits. I watched one yesterday where Michelle was outside their vehicle guiding David along a difficult track to their camping spot on the Nullarbor near Eyre Highway.

Extraordinary....As a surfer, what your doing here is almost like a classic wave hunt 'back in the day', in remote BEAUTIFUL unknown places - ie; effort = reward! Your bikes on top (for me) would have been replaced with surfboards ! Although, id'e have both today of course. Carting around pushbikes back in the day wasn't even a thought ! LOL. The entire East Coast of NSW once was like that (remote & quiet), without the need for 'elaborate' 4x4 gizmoes to get you there. I still recall as a kid, mum & dad going up & down the Coast - crossing big rivers on punts ! Still - your video reminded me of that scenario = the quest for solitude, untouched wilderness. An obvious extraordinary adventure and discovery for you to. To put your adventure into another perspective, watch the movie 'Endless Summer' (the original first one from the mid 60s). As (i assume) your non surfers (no boards on top), it might be a bit of an ask. However, theirs a seane where, searching for untouched perfection, the guys, hearing about a 'mystical' (surfers paradise) spot, trudge across 'the tundra' - dragging their 40 pound long boards across the sand dunes (no fancy 4x4s back then) to FIND PERFECTION ! As i watched your video, i couldn't help thinking 'your gona find THE 'surf break' of The Nullarbour ! Alas - it looked, at least on this video time frame, to be surf less (unridable), despite obvious ground swell & reasonable wind favorable conditions, but SO inviting as to jump into the water and enjoy the 'serenity' - and in the end, that's a big tick ! Cheers from Paul. (Suzie is my wife).
