Technically this isn't Jerry Garcia performing. It is the Grateful Dead but it is the drummers Bill Kruetzman and Mickey Hart. This is the drums section of their famed drums/space portion of all their shows, performed during the second set of their two set concerts. After drums the remaining band members come out and do an entirely instrumental part but without the drummers.

12/28/98 was my first show. Axilla I with II ending opener. I was hooked by the bridge:) The cool thing is that after that I could never imagine not listening to Phish and here I am at 44 still listening and they are still around and turning into old guys.

@@rishikesh1087 My first show was 10/11/95 at Compton Terrace in Tempe, Az. I don’t know exactly how many shows I’ve seen, but it’s gotta be over 100, and I’ve still never seen an Axilla II. I love that song. Hoist was the most recent studio album when I was first getting into them, so I love Hoist. I was sure at Mondegreen when Axilla started that it was going to be a deuce, but it were a one instead…again. I’ve caught that song so many times. Love the part 2 lyrics. But at least we got that outro jam. I caught one in 99 in the summer too. This shit is super cool with the evil Happy Birthday theme. Page is loving it. Yeah they’re getting older. We all are. @ Dude the funniest thing just happened to me. I was coming out of Kroger grocery store and this truck pulled up in the space next to me and it was like a monster truck. The guy was so high up, it was ridiculous! Making me think of Eastbound and Down and Redeemer from last season of Righteous Gemstones.
