It was 2014, I just got a brand new iPod touch. As I was browsing iTunes, I looked up "Moonshine", and this "Divebars & Truckstops" album came up and I was immediately appalled by whatever this unordinary music that I was listening to, and had no idea how to categorize such a genre. Pop? Rap? Country? All of the above? I still don't know lol. To this day, 11 years later, that album is my favorite MB release. #moonshinebandits

What a terrific interview, Jake! I wish the interviewer had spoken up a little louder as she was pretty hard to hear. Your answers were really helpful in opening up a window to a songwriter's soul for those of us who love the music but don't have your gift or insight for writing. I was able to guess your least favorite word before you answered it - "NO!" just because of the interview to that point in the conversation. As to your main characteristic, I agree that it is your "positivity" as that is what first drew me to follow your music after I first saw you backing Tanya Tucker 6 years ago. This is a very interesting interview. Brockton radio around 1996 or so there was a country show started on friday and eneded up on sunaday, called the night watch on WCAV, also called ed muller country. He would play artist like slim whitman and johnny horton. tommy collins and hank snow and buck owens. the radio program ran from 1989 - 2012..it moved to its am band on 1460 wxbr for 4 yrs before ending when station switched to a haiton format.. no w1460 wbms simulates WATD..95.9FM./..
