I now keep seeing videos of Ronnie casually making 147 in clubs all over the place. The guy is a genius. Best player ever.

Ronnie is simply astonishing. Best ever. Hardly lines up shots and pots them perfectly.

Although it's different eras, Ronnie's approach is no different from the first great of the game, Joe Davis: make every shot look as easy as you can. It's essentially about wonderful cue ball control. Joe's century break from 1962 (as a 61 yr old) is a classic example.

steve davis was the first , and never done it again . the game is so different today . the tables , cues . and the standards are massively higher . even so , ronnie is just in another world .

I got to play a frame with Ronnie when he came by for an exhibition at my local in 2014. The frame started out just like this, and I thought he might be on for a maxie. He potted nine reds and nine blacks, but then the 10th red rattled the jaws and stayed out. At that point the table was set up perfectly, reds sprawled out and all the colours on their spots. I played the frame of my life and got the total clearance to actually edge out the Rocket 75-72. When I woke up the next morning the dream was so vivid that It almost made me believe that I actually hadn’t only played the break off and then watched Ronnie compile a 138 break.

Funny thing about this is I actually have , I have 2 photographs with him , he owned a snooker club called rocket Ronnie's on Wirral Merseyside. He smoked regal blue and drank bitter , I met him in 2004 and 2005 when he had long hair . I played for the under 18s team at his club
