I’m obsessed because I was born in the mid 70’s and the 80’s was my favorite decade . A very creative decade . It was a great time to grow up and to be a child and teenager in . I have a huge sticker collection and different things from the era

LOL i was born in in 1987 ~ lived through 80's and 90's so let me say it was cool.... yes and even i was 3 y/o at the time of the end of 80's, i absolutely understand you... 80's and 90's were the days! nothing can be better than that for me. and i don't mind that it's 2024 now... 80's and 90's will live forever in my heart. you rock!

if you find yourself in St Louis, MO on accident (just pack a bullet proof vest), there's a long standing record store called Vintage Vinyl that seems right down your ally. it's basically a local right of passage to get the bumper sticker if you grew up in the area. They haven't changed the bumper sticker as long as I've been alive. Or the lay out of the store for that matter.

It's funny how people long for eras before our time! I spent all of my 1980s childhood obsessed with 50s/60s music and culture. Didn't get heavily into 80s culture until the later half of the 90s, when the 90s stopped being so cool.. Been missing the 20th century ever since.

Not big guns
@Historylover810 ай бұрын
My point is their songs are anchored to this beat and most of their songs include large chunks of the beat for beginners. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t switch up. Big Gun still is majority of this same groove most of the song. 1&2&3&4& on hi-hat 2&4 snare 1&3 kick which is what I’m doing here.
@FearlessFocus-jt8rx10 ай бұрын
Most of that song is still this pocket groove
@steveg833710 ай бұрын
No...
@Historylover810 ай бұрын
I meant for beginners they can just continue to play this through the entire song. Other than Thunderstruck it’s good practice for the basic 4/4 pocket groove
@filmtvbiz10 ай бұрын
@@Historylover8yeah, I get it. The basic rhythm section ( from a composition/composing POV), is pretty straightforward, 4/4, 120bpm stuff. Angus, as wild at it may seem, was very great at nailing those 16th, 8 triplets in the 4/4 pocket, all before "synch" "click speed" and clock became the norm, in todays technical studio. Having an idea and understanding of such, makes for great producer/composing chops. 💫✨🕊️🌹
@Historylover810 ай бұрын
@@filmtvbiz Wow, I had no idea. I wasn't trying to tease him here. People say the guitar riffs sound similar too. They found a sound that worked for them and made catchy beloved songs.
@filmtvbiz10 ай бұрын
@@Historylover8 indeed they did, "have a sound that worked" and yes, the riffs were similar, but, they too worked. Keep it going. Believe then Achieve. 💫✨
@filmtvbiz10 ай бұрын
It depends on how one de-constructs the song, their technical skills, studio experience, recording technique, plus, are we comparing the arrangement to other works of their time such as "Pink Floyd" (definitely more complex), the bluesy loose feel of "Led Zeppelin" or the more 4/4 simplicity of Aerosmith, all different, great/songs (melody) and some of the best, all requiring a different skill set when writing/ arranging and performing. Just my opinion. ✨💫🕊️✌️

The 80’s was a good decade to live through. I really liked the cars, and tech of the time. I still have an 80’s car, and some stereo equipment and lots of records from that time. It’s so nice to see someone like yourself appreciate the 80’s. It was a great time in my life.

In Birmingham you drop the H so it is then pronounced Birming-am, that's your British lesson for today, the same goes for other similarly spelled names, you two are very cute by the way.

I was more "new wave/synth" of that era. Try "Blast Off" by Class Action and "Discussing Missile Size" Dada. Being 55 I can tell ya' that the Devo fans never got along with the Van Halen fans back then,that's for sure. I went to the Devo conventions in Cleveland/Akron for a couple decades and it's not even the same back there. Things are VERY different. It was very thin back in the 70s. "Popcorn" by Hot Butter was one of the one things there was until Kraftwerk pretty much hit the scene. Tangerine DReam and Jarre around that same time...
