Just ran into this problem today. Dealer said that the vavle cover was cracked and heater hose was leaking. Vavle cover was covered by warranty with $100 deductible, but heater hose was not. Quoted $1200 to replace hoses!!! Its a freaking HOSE!!! Told them fix the vavle cover and I'll fix the heater hose. Found your video and thank you for the RockAuto reference. Bought both motorcraft hoses for about $140 after shipping and will be replacing them next weekend. Expedition has 65,000 miles. I think I'm going to buy the pliers for removing the quick connector from harbor frieght for $14. I'll let you know how quick I can get it done. Thank you for the tutorial!

I’m curious about something on my install. On the hose that is closest to the front of the vehicle, does the hose click over the little rib like the others? For the life of me I cannot seem to get this one to click like the others and it looks like the rib is not below the lock ring yet. Am I missing something?

I looked up the part numbers and they show the old connectors for one hose and the new connectors for the other. Is that just the pictures and they both come with the new connectors?

Did you not need to remove the air intake hose on this job? You mention it earlier in the video, but it looks intact as you're working. I'm watching another video and the guy is beside himself because he can't get a tool down to take it off and I haven't found a video addressing that specifically. That said, the guy in the other video did not take the battery out, so I can see that you have much more room to work with. Need to do this repair on my 2018 F-150. Thanks

while i agree with you 2600 is too expensive for that repair i dont believe the cost of time, hoses from motocraft and coolant was under 200 people still have to make a living and its not a 200 fix for most people that are not capable of doing their own repairs

Took it to the dealer this morning, they confirmed the issue was these hoses. They're replacing now, $950 later. I just don't the time to do this myself so what are ya gonna do? Just disappointing to have this happen on a car with 50kmi.

I have this same problem on my 2018 Expedition. Something you said made me think. Could I replace that plastic "y" connector with and aluminum one? Something like the "y" connector from part #626-665
@StoughBrothersOutdoors3 ай бұрын
I thought about that too. But I still had 30k left on my 100k warranty and didn’t meant to void anything for not using factory replacement parts. Plus the plastic ends are leaking in these things too. Figured while I was in there I’d just do it right.

My grandfather caught me in the side of the head with him slinging and bomber big O crank bait. I was 12 years old and felt nauseous more than pain. He pulled it out of my head and said we're heading back. I said no way we are here to fish. Ever since then he and I went fishing and he considers my dad a punk.😂

Neat little trick someone showed me. You lay your arm out straight with the bottom of your upper arm (just below the bicep) laying across the rail of the boat. This will put your hand to sleep and you will not feel a thing. Do a little boat operation and get back to fishing.

I really appreciate this video, thank you! Just completed this repair on a family member's car. The hardest part (besides the 90+ degree heat and extreme humidity) was getting the hoses off. After that it was pretty easy. I was in a time crunch and ended up getting the hoses at my local dealer. They were only $110 a piece, not the $300 a piece that the service center quoted you.

Can you help with the hose connections? I know the top hose connects to the top fitting on the firewall and the bottom hose connects to the bottom fitting on the firewall. Which hose connects to which metal line?

I have a 2019 Expedition and just yesterday I was driving and overheating light popped on the dash. I was crap and limped it to a friends house and checked reservoir and it was empty. Which was weird because I literally had just checked it about a week ago when I changed the oil. So I filled it up and made it home no issues. Went back out about 10 minutes later and noticed a small puddle on front passenger side. I got to looking and it seems it’s wet right below that electrical hub that you disconnected. So I’m guessing I’m having same problem. I’m gonna put some dye in it tomorrow. Were you seeing a puddle in that same area?

Yes. Firewall area passenger side.

Took my new to me (2 months) 19 expedition in and they just called me and said heater core hose was leaking. I had dye in it so I already knew that and I really thought I saw some in the oil but they say nothing in the oil. I have a warranty so anxious to see how much they try and charge me. I just had the cam phasers replaced two weeks ago… this thing has been a nightmare.

@justinshaw5706 my father in law bought them which I’m very appreciative of. We weren’t in a position at the time for anything that large of a purchase. That being said, I would have gotten small 4wheelers. These are great and safe for small kids on flat hard ground. They don’t go through soft dirt or up inclines well.
