Bruh, the left refer to anything they don't like as *[AUSTRIAN PAINTER]* When the war in ukraine started, there was a news channel that literally posted an image of putin, but half of his face was H1Tl3r trying to say he was "basically the same person" Like WHAT?!!?! 😂

I want to make a statement on this song: I am no Fascist or anything on that ideological branch, but this song has a special place in my heart. The Nazi Reign and WW2 is what got me into history and this song signaled my interest in it. Though, I've spread my interest beyond WW2, taking my eyes onto The Khmer Rouge of the 70s and also WW1 and The Battle of Peking of 1900, I want to address that this song started it all for me... the music of history didn't just give an interesting look into it but brought it to life for me... It might be a bit wrong to praise a nazi martyr but thanks, Horst Wessel...
@applescruff1969 Жыл бұрын
If it makes it any better, Horst Wessel was (allegedly) a pimp! That's...slightly redeeming, right?

There's something about march tunes sung by lots of soldiers. Just the sound of it, regardless of what the words mean. "Pack up your troubles" is IMO the nearest British equivalent (and yes, I know that's from the previous war). But the Germans seemed very good at creating such tunes: another one is actually about a little heathland flower and a girl of the same name: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3Ldh4x5qJl1g7s (which, though the Nazis liked it, actually contains nothing in its words that has anything to do with them - as I said, it's about a flower and a sweetheart); on the rare occasions when I need an alarm clock, I set my computer to play that! IMO one of the best "German" marches is by the very English Ron Goodwin, who I think captured the essence of the genre: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3WTkqemq7Saa7M . (Mr. Souza of course is the March King, though his are usually performed without voices [though I think there are words to many of them]. Very stirring pieces, but not the same, somehow, without voices.)

@@applescruff1969 True. He was mortally wounded by another pimp in a fight over a whore named Erma. While Wessel lay in the hospital, slowly dying from his wounds, Nazi Party Propaganda chief Joe Goebbels discovered the rival pimp was a Communist, the hated, Socialist rivals of the Nazi's. All of a sudden, Erma was forgotten and the altercation between Wessel and the Communist pimp became a struggle between waring Socialist ideologies. Gotta love it when the "Spin Doctors" take control and rewrite the narrative to fit their agenda!
