Great idea to have the co-angler point of view. It's nice to see some "regular" guys' experiences. Do it again with 4 different points of view.

This is one of the greatest, most insightful, and honest podcast I have heard in regard to entering into the fishing industry. Thank you very much for sharing your advice for entering the NWT as a co-angler, I have been really interested in doing it but was always worried about not having the right gear or knowledge to help the Pro.

One of my favorite bites. It's got to be tough with the current limit gotta have 19 " and a good kicker to win. Did you know that the local biologist didn't think there was sufficient evidence to change the limit. But it was changed anyway because of public opinion

Great watching you in red wing tournament, where did you enter the water in red wing? I have a canoe I’d like to hit the back waters. That’s seems the safest.

Thanks for the video, I would like to hear the Co Anglers perspective too. Would you be willing to do a podcast walking a new co angler from finding the website to sign up, to getting in the boat with a Pro? All of the in' and out's. I am 60 years old, fished walleye since I can remember and this is a bucket list thing to do. But how? Thanks Brian, I always enjoy your videos and pod cast.

It was great to hear all the insight that John had. As a follower of the NWT, I would love to see it go to a format where all anglers sign on for the entire season, however many that may be. Even with how the tour is set up now a limit on practice days would be interesting to see. Thank you for the wonderful content, I look forward to these each week.

Great episode i watched a John Balla podcast a while back and my eyes popped outa my head and it changed my tournament approach . I get the not wanting locals in to snag a few checks but thats what makes the tour great Regular Joes like me can Dream of some day being the absolute best at something even if only for a day. because lets be honest the best way i ever heard it described was today as being a professional hobby.. My pick to win this 1 is Tom all i do is win win huynh!! thanks JB DH an BBfor the entertainment., 👍

FFS is not going anywhere there won’t be restrictions, Your fishing The top Circuit Not local events .. Guys crying about it will be left in the dust. If you fish a wing-dam not much changes other then leaving if you see no fish same as a-lot of areas why people think scoping fish is so much different makes me confused!!
@TheWalleyeGuys2 ай бұрын
I don't think it's going anywhere or at least not in the near future. Not many are crying about on circuit as most realize it's the game we sign up to play. If scoping fish wasn't different it wouldn't be such a controversial issue, so not sure what you mean.
@FishingNorthernOntarioCanada2 ай бұрын
I mean it’s not much different in the sense that you pull up on an area to fish or search because of the knowledge you have as a skilled angler you still need to know where to point it and catch the fish there by casting. Seems like the big debate is trolling vs casting and we never seen many or any walleye tournaments won casting except when keith did it without live imaging but i still think many walleye tournaments are won trolling. Some guys will figure out how to troll better with live scope , And this keeps the fields spread out . Keep fishing your strengths is my advice to anyone. And very good call on Garmin Live scope every one else is playing catch up ,
@TheWalleyeGuys2 ай бұрын
@@FishingNorthernOntarioCanada got it, did you know that out of the last 24 NWT tournaments, only 8 were won trolling? and only 2 of those were in the past two years. Trolling has it's place no doubt and it can put a lot of fish in the boat.

Very interesting takes on Walleye Tournament Fishing. My opinion may differ from theirs, but we all share the passion of walleye fishing. As much as i have enjoyed many co-anglers over the years, I think it is the co-angler that is holding back the professional side of walleye tournaments. It should be mano y mano. No teams, no cos, one on one on one. The walleye tournament game has been the same for over 35 years. It has to change to grow.

Forward Facing Sonar. Question is Fair chase? Some states have outlawed trail cams, drones, for hunting. Almost radios for stocking. 10lbs walleyes 180-200 class Deer 380-390 ELK, What's the difference. Very cool tech. Is it fair to the bigger fish. You can see Bass guys and Walleye guys targeting the bigger fish in tournaments. Average guy fishing is looking for schools for eaters. Will it change the population I really don't think so. But just like hunting where does tech draw a line. Musky and Paddle fish no more thousand cast fish drive around until you find one, then target that specific fish. Its cuts lot of learning curve for sure. Fish on.

Thanks Joe great info good luck this season !! love the content you been putting out keep it coming!! You cant mess with camera gear for even a 2nd during a tournament set multiple go pros on external batteries with large sd card N let them run best way chests cams… Hit record and dont stop them all day , Another Tip don’t pull out micro sd cards ever put them in N leave them forever.

How to figure the drop when fishing over trees with bottom bouncers? get first snag then real up? LOL
@TheWalleyeGuys3 ай бұрын
Thats one way. I like to hold the rod in hand and then drop until i feel it or if you have live scope you can see it. I just drop until i feel the first limb then reel up a bit. Some times you can see it on 2D and use a line counter so you can mimic it again.

I use Silver Streak Jr and Silver Streak Mini spoons a lot for walleye on Francis Case. When you use 20lb line to the spoon will that reduce the effects of the spoon? I use 10lb to the spoon but will admit I lose to many spoons 😩
