Check your battery terminals also and it's good to have a battery and alternator tester.

A really helpful video. Clear , concise and decent photography. One comment is to lose the music. With your soft voice I found it distracting trying to listen to your voice.

Hello, good morning, I am a follower of your channel and I am contacting you, to be able to comment on the following situation that occurs in my vehicle, Ford mondeo mk2 2.5 v6, one morning the battery was discharged, without knowing how to change the battery, when month or so, the car stopped in full operation, it was as if the electricity had died, stop, giving it and giving it until it started, again as if the battery was without charge, it was only a month old, I changed the alternator regulator , and well, I bought it, it charges over 14.5V, and I considered the fault finished, one day cleaning the interior, I left the radio on, while I cleaned, and nothing a few minutes later, the voltage began to drop, less to less, until the battery was discharged at that moment, I was surprised because that had never happened to him, I did another test, with the battery charged again, I gave the contact, after a short time, equal to less to less , that in a moment the battery goes away, I recharge it, install it, and leave it and connected approximately 2 months, until I realized that the red light of the alarm did not blink, I checked it and discharged, that did not happen in the past either, it carried out the current leakage test with the multimeter, because I told myself that this would have to be a current leak, it is the logical thing to think, and what was my surprise, that the value it gave is 0.02 amps, with the battery just charged, so there is no current leak, I have also performed the voltage drop test and it gives 000v both positive and negative, and then what happens to it? I don't even know what else to do, regarding what I am explaining to you, I await your prompt clarification, please, greetings.

First check both Battery terminals make sure both terminals are tight and check the tension of the alternator and check the Battery terminal of your alternator, must be tight. It seem to me you have a defective battery. Try to change it with another battery and you will be fine.

Doing this can fry your car engine control Module. This trick not feasible anymore after having so many electrical gadgets in the cars. Dont do it just by a multimeter for 10 dollars and then check the battery and alternator with it Lol

That test is not for the faint hearted....Any garage will do a battery check and alternator health check.for next to nothing...Of course an ecu controlled alternator is going to love this...not...

An acceptable test with older cars without computer chips...but doing this with news cars "can" (not always) send a voltage surge that can fry your computer circuits. So proceed at own risk ;)

The only way you are going to blow up your computer chip is if you remove the positive side of the battery. If you do this it will give you a high voltage power surge. That would be very dangerous.

Not true you want fry your computer. What it will do is make your alternator go to full amps on the field winding's. A good tip is when you jump a vehicle don't disconnect the jump battery or jumper cables, wait about a minute to give the field a chance to normalize on the alternator.

Please don’t try this. If the alternator IS working, disconnecting battery can create very high voltages, like hundreds of volts, & can damage electrical components. If your alternator is working, it will generate a magnetic field, place a wrench or screwdriver on the side & you will feel it. Or, if you turn on your headlights, you will hear the engine work harder.

@@murkyturkey5238 Maybe not but he is correct that disconnecting battery while alternator running can cause damage to other parts of your car like your computer for instance

If the alternator not working and removing the negative terminal while the car is running nothing gonna happen it will just shot the motor off only.but by mistake you remove the positive terminal of your battery it will give you a high voltage like an open circuit and might damage the your computer.
