Bailin? Ya bailing hay? You are referring to a balanced to unbalanced transformer(toroid). Does anyone speaking English say: "bailanced" to "unbailanced" ? NOPE.

I love this antenna; I purchased it a year ago and it works really well. W1REJ. I have my center mast made from 6x6 PT post and then reduced to 4x4 mounted on top hinged for drop down. The ends are in trees.

Because your club did this work and made videos like this is why I got my Ham radio license. I can hear this tower now.

H, I do not know the difference in the electrical properties but I would use DiElectric Grease instead of Vaseline on your antenna mating surfaces.

As a previous mountain climber, I did not see a problem with his technique. I have used the same to get a cat out of a tree.

Yes, it's certainly nice to have a bit of fun and having various hams all around the area sending in reports This kind of activity from members of your radio club and other non-members. I wonder if any of you are into chasing SOTA or PORTA parks on the aire I've enjoyed the video and I'll be watching for more 73s G0HDA

What Fun you can have as a ham radio operator.
@ozone38512 күн бұрын
You could get 2-3 operators at predetermined spots with yagis to triangulate on him. The stationary operators with a simple yagi and give the bearing from thier position would also work. Great training opertunity.

The 2670 is more then capable of turning those cans. I have both the IFR 1200S and the 2670R. I'm not bashing anyone here. I had a learning curve when I got mine too. Get the manual if you don't have it and practice. Thanks for all the videos and it's nice seeing everyone turn out to work at the repeater site. 73 de N9JOD

Any chance for more info on the mast and how you secure it to the ground ?
@BlessedLaymanNC17 күн бұрын
I enjoyed the video. I'm sure you know, now, if you didn't know then, that you could have done better direction finding with the HT by blocking the antenna with your body and rotating around. DFing is a lot of fun. It gets especially interesting when a lot of club members participate. We used small yagis, short antennas, even dummy loads to help find the fox. I love how you got taunted by the fox. It takes a group in places like Atlanta. Some of the foxes knew how to use a yagi to bounce signals off different buildings to get reports from different directions every time he transmits. Usually he is just about tripped over before he is found. Keep up the fun, and keep sharing videos of your fun activities. They are always inspiring.

Do yourself a favor and put up a real antenna and not that junk you are using. 🙄. I see more “antenna troubles at the repeater site” videos coming up soon. Hams never learn. Always go cheap and pray it works.
