Splunk ARI represents data already collected and normalized within Splunk.

A lot of asset management offerings are more than likely making a call to AWS Cloudtrail and not the AWS asset itself. So if you are receiving log data from Cloudtrail,any other cloud mechanism as well as multiple other log data sources wouldn't that provide sufficient information? But log data can be received directly from the asset as well if that data is being ingested.

Went to the company website. Basically, Splunk is the company's name. Their products are named Splunk this and Splunk that, related to security, solutions and platform for big data. Funny that a company that simplify and summarize data can't seem to simplify and summarize what Splunk is in a simple and straightforward manner, both in their videos and websites, giving the impression that they're also confuse and unsure.
