I do not have a video on the abandoned vehicle process for the property owner. The reason being is due to the complexity and the process differs by state... Each state has it's own laws and processes pertaining to the abandoned vehicle process.

Was this from the perspective of the person buying the car? What if you had your credit union send the money to the lien holder (sellers bank) to pay off the car… how would I register the vehicle?

This is in the arena of a person buying the car.... You getting the vehicle titled and or registered depends on the seller signing the title over to you.

Can you help me figure out how to get the MCO for a new vehicle without the dealership sending it to the DMV?

Hello if you purchased a new vehicle "without a lien" the dealership MIGHT provide you with the MCO and you'll be responsible for submitting it to DMV yourself, however if you have a lien on the brand new vehicle... the chances of you getting the MCO are slim to none because their is a lien on the vehicle. The key factor here is do you have a lien or not?

U can't have one. When the dealers sells the car the MCO is sent to the state. State destroys the MCO and sends u the Certificate Of Title.

@Mike-xw4gm only if there is no lien and the dealer chooses to give you the MCO... so you can do the title work yourself but this happening is unlikely because the dealer don't want the customer to lose the MCO

If you want interstate authority, you will apply through the FMCSA website. I'm not able to go into the full details in the comments due to the time and complexity of getting one's own operating authority. There are different types of operating authorities that fall under Interstate Authority (FMCSA) and each one has it's own requirements. Here's their link: www.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Hello. The steps depends on what state you need to title the boat in. Every state boat title laws differ.

@@latrealparker2887The process can be lengthy and it's based on whether you have a bill of sale or not from the seller... due to time and the complexity of the requirements, I can't post them here... one of the things you would be required to do is a legal posting to give the prior owners the right to come forward. Hello and thank you for sharing. What if i drive off because of a disputed bill and the mechanic is now left with no vehicle and a unpaid bill ? Also, to file for a lien has to be a tedious process for the mechanic, is it not?

Hello, you are welcome. If you drive off due to a dispute and don't pay... the mechanic can still demand his charges and sue if you don't pay.. also the process can be simple or tedious depending on the amount of the charges, how long the mechanic has had the vehicle, and so on.

What if i paid for a repair but dispute because of the job can a lien be put on my car still?

If you paid for the vehicle and the vehicle is still sitting on the lot of the mechanic (which does happen for whatever reason)... yes the mechanic can still put a lien against the vehicle. If you paid the repair bill in full, the mechanic can charge you for storage fees daily.

@@spazzhoudini If you have the car, the mechanic wouldn't be able to put a lien against the vehicle, however if you didn't pay them what you stated you did... the mechanic can try to get the rest of the monies owed to them... they just wouldn't be able to file a lien against the vehicle, since it's not in their possession.

Hello, Yes You Can have the USDOT number, TX DOT number (intrastate) and the MC# all at the same time, however it depends on your weight, hauling type and whether you will be hauling intrastate only, or interstate... So think about these factors to determine whether all are needed for you or not. I hope this helps.

Are you familiar with "INTRASTATE" permit? We are a new INTRASTATE carrier and were trying to register on a popular load board, but they are requiring an INTRASTATE PERMIT, but i have been unable to find out exactly what that is!

Hello, yes I am familiar with INTRASTATE PERMITS. Intrastate permits are state specific (they are mandated at the state level) and are based on what you are hauling or transporting. Intrastate permits can be very complexed... so it also depends on the type of authority that you have.

A private personal automobile isn't the same as the commercial vehicle because 1. A private personal automobile isn't being used for commercial/business use and 2. The weight of private personal automobiles aren't the same as commercial vehicles. The word "commercial" when it comes to DMV wording is based on business use and or the weight/transporting/hauling purpose of the vehicle in question.
